CIBBL - Y5, Autumn - Bronze Division: game 3:

This time Timaris wouldn't make a compromise. "It's simple", he instructed his players, we go all in right from the start. These dark elves are traitorous scum. Unreliable and hard to predict. "We go in and we score. Then I have a special present for these assasins..."

Nuffle was with the Meddlers throughout the whole game. Leap helped a lot securing the first touchdown: 1-0 in turn 2. The Corsairs picked up the ball and moved in, thinking themselves safe in their lousy cage. "Now!", Timaris shouted to the wizard he approached the day before the match. His fine was hefty, but it proved its worth! Woosh, 4 corsairs were suddenly engulfed by fire. Two of them were even beyond playing once the fireball's smoke had cleared up. The ball was free for the pickup and the Meddlers were set for a 2-0 lead. "Ha", Timaris cried. "That's what I call a proper investment". I should consider a fixed contract for that mage. Next turn Morlanna pulled a trick from her sleeve and pushed Dagger of Khaine into the crowd, right into the Meddlers fan boot. "One less assasin to face this game", she smirked.

Good fortune continued during the next drive. After an assasin somehow stumbled over his own feet, all the Meddlers had to do was pick up the ball and throw it forward. "Unbelievable", Timaris mused. "This is going beyond even my wildest dreams." A 3-0 lead at halftime for the Meddlers. Hasn't happened before and will not happen any time soon again.

When another corsair stumbled over his own feet at the beginning of the second half, leaving the ball free on the floor, Timaris couldn't believe his own eyes. "Could this be true? Or are my eyes playing tricks on me?". It was true enough. The Meddlers were already in anticipation of a staggering 4-0 lead, when - alas - Araloth also stumbled over his own feet and went down in the dirt, face first. "Ah, I knew it", Timaris cursed. "When something's too good to be true, it probably isn't", he concluded. "Let that be a lesson to remember." The rest of the game didn't produce any spectacular viewings any more. The corsairs were able to run in the ball, settling the game at 3-1.

Nobody noticed Timaris evacuating a wicked knife from the pitch after all player had left the field. He picked up the blade from the scorched earth, where the wizard's firball had hit the surface, smoothly storing it away somewhere under his flowing mantle. It was blackened by the fire, but he was sure he would put it to good use in the future...

In what looked on paper as a hard game, Nuffle was with the Meddlers on this one. The wood elves were on fire. Nothing could stop them. Best performance so far!
