“This match was a pre-season play-off for a spot in the WIL conference. After a quite long fumble break, in which the dwarf team drank lots of bloodweiser ale in the dwarvish pub, the dwarves were a little bit rusty and did not manage to win.

First half El Dia de los Muertos started on offense. The out-guarded, out-muscled and out-ran our poor dwarves. Boomer Eziasson managed to throw two bombs - Both of which were intercepted by a tomb guardian! We changed tactic to the elf-way and after a few successful dodges we were able to threaten the ball carrier enough for a turn 7 score.

Just two turns to score back... The drive went perfectly well and all rolls were successful. But I forgot how slow the dwarves were and did not advance far enough in the field in the first turn. We needed 2 chain pushes with the troll slayer to be able to reach the end zone but the first one already ended in a pow. 1-0 down at half time.

2nd half offense went a lot better. We were able to remove two tomb guardians from the pitch and now the roles were reversed. We could freely hammer on the skeletons every turn and really had to score that 1-1 tie in turn 8. But I made the same mistake again! Forgot to take a look at the turn counter, did not advance fast enough, forgot how slow the dwarves were and completely messed up turn 7. As a result nobody was in scoring position in turn 8. Hopefully this was a good lesson in dwarf mobility that we definitely need to get a good result in the regional division next season!

It was a very fun match to play with nice and crazy events against a nice coach. Hopefully we will be able to have our revenge in a future WIL match someday :-)

PS Note to self: Skill-up a few dwarves with dauntless, that really helps to survive agains tomb guardians.”
