To really understand this match you must go back and look at the history between these two teams. They first met in Season 32, during the first ever playoff for a spot in the National Championship, in a tense match with Miami prevailing. The following season bore witness to U-Dub laying an unquestionable beating on Miami, one to not be forgotten. Season 34 saw both teams return under the bright lights, this time to the inaugural Imperial Colleges of Magic Wizard Bowl, in which fireballs fell from the sky, injuries abounded, and U-Dub secured another victory. If ever there were going to be suitable fodder for either an official or unofficial rivalry, it rest on this match.


U-Dub won the coin toss and elected to receive, as underdogs Miami took to the pitch to the cheers of the home crowd, and spurned on by said crowd, committed to a full blitz before the kick had even reached the ground. U-Dub collected the ball and remained deep in the pocket, setting up their players for a quick chance to score. Miami countered by knocking two of the elven catchers unconscious and putting pressure on the ball. The elves left the pocket and attempted to throw the ball to their remaining catcher, but the catch was bumbled, and the ball hit the pitch. Miami rushed in and collected the loose ball but failed to punt the ball out of reach of U-Dub, leaving the ball along the sidelines. A series of brutal blocks were thrown by both teams, causing the ball to scatter out of bound and to be thrown back into Miami territory. The spirit of the frog must have been with Miami, as they managed to get the ball, get it to midfield, and to successfully catch a bounced pass, and run downfield with the ball. Miami stalls out the rest of the half, as U-Dub makes several valiant attempts on the ball. The half ends with Miami leading 1-0.

Playing 11-on-8, with Miami receiving, it was U-Dub's turn to jump off of the LOS with a blitz, managing to stop under the ball and catch the kickoff as it came down. Miami reclaimed the ball, but they could not secure it, as U-Dub sent a catcher deep into the endzone for a reception, but fumbled the pass attempt after collecting the ball. With the majority of the elven players now on the wrong side of the pitch Miami was able to retrieve the ball and hand it off for a breakaway towards the goal line. U-Dub laded a series of hits and fouls prior to Miami score their touchdown, taking their lead up to 2-nil.

Playing at 9-a-piece, U-Dub set up to attempt a quick score, but Miami read the play and was able to shuffle their defense position as the kick landed. But the Elfskies started to get their mojo working, pushing through the Miami line to form a deep screen along the sideline with the ball in hand. Miami was determined not to let this game slip from their grasp, as they sent in multiple players, including a blitz on the ball carrier, though unsuccessful, set up a chain push where by the elven catcher holding the ball was pushed into the crowd, the ball being thrown to midfield at the feet of Miami. Miami again collected the ball and rushed off to the endzone, scoring for a third time.

Both teams set up one last time, but there was no way for U-Dub to get back in the match. A few blocks and a pass were all the elves could muster before the final whistle blew, ending the match, 3-0, Miami.
