“Good performances on both ends of the field led to a close tie.

First half was a dominant dwarf cage progression. Vivian managed a very awesome dodge roll to eventually get the ball loose with some 2 die uphills. One of our rookie players tried to toss the ball away but it was far too sunny and he spiked it instead. Pitt was able to recover and scored.

The second half the Union used their speed and a little positioning to get through the dwarf wall. They bunched up on the side and then were able to reform at the middle quicker than the tiny dwarf legs could safely respond. A nice 1 die push and a few 2 plus dodged and the elf cage was now in Pitt territory. After a failed dwarf GFI for positioning, an elf push was all that was needed to get the score.

The Union then dialed up a blitz on the next drive and moved into a possible position to take advantage, holding 3 players back just in case. Pitt set up a nice spot for the runner to either run to or toss the ball too BUT butterfingers flubbed the pickup. With only 1 TZ on the ball, and now some successful 2 pluses, Bob the Janitor was able to sneak in for a score. Elf BS.

Still with a few turns to score, a group of now very angry Pitt Dwarves marched down the field. They already killed Vivian on the previous drive and were out for revenge. The Union turned to a shopping lane defense, but really couldn't manage it effectively because every other dwarf block was a knock out. The union managed to get the ball loose on a 5 plus dodge on a final desperate attempt. However the last turn which started with a key knock out, followed by a key defender down, set up a really nice chain push for a troll slayer 4 plus catch and score.
