“The OWA came across some Tomb Kings. A Skele Throw-Ra was stunned by a rock, but we somehow kicked the ball off the pitch. So the slow ones had the ball ready to go anyway. They advanced comfortably with some of our key players tied up by skeles, while the Tomb Guardians guarded any channels to the ball carrier. Eventually we got back in defence and they decided to score.

There was time remaining but our plan was in tatters when we were blitzed at kick off! Trouble then to get past the LOS. But Justin Jones did speed around them. A TD chance was in sight if Gimran could push away a skele and move to help cover. But he failed and went down! Which left Justin exposed and a blitzer smashed him down. We went in to half-time 1-0 down.

Next half we managed to get by their line. Torgut cas'ing a Blitz-Ra (which regen'd) helped. Justin still had to blitz his way through to the endzone. 1-1.

The Tomb Kings came back. A lino was saved by the apo from a near fatal Tomb Guardian hit. But just as the match looked lost (after I failed to double bank all of the centre with free players) Jones again did impressive blitzing work and smashed down their carrier. We covered their most advance player but somehow I missed that a Blitz-ra was in max range! He was blocked free and made the pickup. Did a gfi... and then a classic gfi endzone fail!

Although we did have a key equal strength block fail we did get away with quite a lot of them. Tough to find favourable blocks against the strength and guard!

Both teams move on still unbeaten.”
