A tough match... and great fun to play.

The match started off with the fans rioting for three turns, after which the Brave Companions started to hit the elves a bit. Of course this ended up with one of the brave companions going down himself, but he managed to knock out and elf while doing so.

Gondolin's Elite stormed forward and picked up the ball, but the next turn the Brave Companions used their Horns to good effect and knocked it loose again. The game became a bit of a scrap, but the turn after that the Brave Companions managed some good hitting, picked up the ball, handed it off and ran it downfield... At first sight free from danger.

Gondolin's Elite, however, ran back, took the beastman down with 1 die, and put two TZ on the loose ball. The Brave Companions then hit the elves some more, and put their own TZ on the ball after knocking an elf away. The turn after that, the last turn of the half, the Companions cleared away the last of the elves around the ball, picked it up and scored.

The second half started with a quick touchdown for Gondolin's Elite, as the Companions blitzing beastman failed a 2 dice block, even after the re-roll, leaving the catcher with the ball free of any TZ whatsoever.

After that it was the companions turn again. They hit some, goit the ball in a cage, but the elves swarmed it. The Companions broke away and formed a cage further up the field, but again it was swarmed... This time the elves couldn't be easily blocked away and dodges were called for. Two dodges were needed to form a cage along the sideline which would make the ball-carrier safe. the ball-carrier dodged, and had to re-roll to get clear. Then his friend dodged, and fell. Due to this one side of the cage was open to elven attack, and the ball was knocked free, and into the hands of the blitzing elf Blitzer, after which the elves set some tackle zones on nearby beastmen.

One beastman was free though, and he used his horns to good effect and knocked the ball loose. Vargo Hoat, star warrior of the Companions, then dodged, picked up the ball, went for it and scored, though this cost the Companions teir last re-roll.

Gondolin's Elite then went on the offence again with three turns left, running the ball deep into the Companions' half. Their offence was flawed, however, and beastmen managed to get to the catcher and bring him down, and the blitzing beastman even managed to catch the ball! Miracle of miracles, the next turn this beastman stayed upright! Only one turn more did the Companions have to keep hold of the ball. Blitzing a way free, they set a cage at the side-line very close to their own end-zone.

Gondolin's Elite were undaunted. They went for it several times, dodged a few times, all without any re-rolls, and brought the beastman with the ball down. The only elf who had not yet moved that turn stood up, dodged, went for it... anbd failed to pick up the ball in a tackle zone. The match was over, the Companions had won!

A tough match, I never expected Chaos to win against elves. Had some rotten luck at the start, but in the end it meant I scored after five turns in half one, and with the three turn riot this saw me go into the second half 1 - 0 up. With a bit of luck after that I held out - though my opponent had his share of luck when putting the pressure on me.

May the Companions win again in the near future. =)
