The Squeakers entered the match with 3 players nursing light niggling injuries (1 each) but 2 of the players including their Super Star Rat Ogre Fleshtearer pulled up sore before the match!

The Thought had 7 players nursing injuries, but only one failed his final fitness test putting the Squeakers at a severe disadvantage. However, the Squeakers decided to use their match allotment of healing sponges to make Fleshtearer fit enough to play the game!

A huge risk, but it paid off as the big fella created gaps in the opposing line all day. The Squeakers scored quickly, then blitzed on the next kick off, stealing the ball to take a 2-0 lead over the stunned Thought.

The Squeakers blitzed again on the next drive, and looked like scoring, but the Thought managed to recover the ball and push it downfield, only to turn the ball over (due to a greedy 2 dice block upfield that got a doulbe skulls) and the Squeakers recovered the ball.

The Squeakers were about to take a 3-0 lead at the half except a very poor block (greedy, I rolled a push and skull, and used a reroll and got double skulls LOL) by a linerat near the line of scrimmage ended up with him banging his helmet on the ground so hard that the would be scorer turned around just short of the end zone to see what the loud noise was.

This momentary delay was cost the Squeakers a third TD as the the clock ran out whilst the rat with the ball turned around to have a peep!

The second half saw the Squeakers dominate again on defence and steal the ball at will even though the weather turned bad and pouring rain made the ball slippery and difficult to handle. The Squeakers would have won 5-0 but a dropped catch by the Squeakers in the Thought's end zone turned into a score by the Thought who managed to get the ball from one end of the pitch to the other.

A fun game as usual with my arch enemy (well regular opponent then) Screener. He was cursed with lots of bad luck in the first half, with lots of failed dodges, and the two blitzes cost him too. However, they need not have done so if he had not taken the greedy two dice block upfield when he was yet to move his ball carrier to score. The result was a score by me. Then I did the same thing to end the first half so that is justice LOL.

Then again, any game with Elves where there is nothing worse than Badly Hurt and no loss in FF is a win right? ;)

I tried most of the match to kill Screener the lone elf like I have every other game, but the plucky fellow not only survived, he scored a TD when he made 3 rolls of 2+ (dodge and two GFIs) with no rerolls left. He now has an advance and will be even harder to kill in the future ;)

Next time Screener, next time!!!
