The lizards, under the expert watch of coach ChrisB, put up an extremely stiff defense in the first half, preventing the dwarves from scoring at all. Only two armor breaks in the entire half by either team--a bh to a rookie skink and another skink ko--meant that second half I'd be hard pressed to stop his return stroke. And so it went, just as predicted. We did our damndest, but in the end he got a key stun to my only potential last-ditch blitzer to stop his score and send the game to OT, sealing my fate.
The usual excuses apply...too many skulls on blocks, not good enough hits when I did hit, yada yada yada, but the bottom line is ChrisB coached better TODAY. As close as it turned out to be, who's to say it might not be different were we to play again?
