Not much to add to what Malthor said.

The mistake on the 1st drive was probably the game-turner in reality. The girls were outgunned, especially in the tackle-department (though had significant advantage in regards to guard). This discrepancy worsened when one of the two tackle chicks from WEG was injuried. Despite this, the Girls struggled on and came close several times to turning it into a draw.

For them to ever have the chance of winning would have required my opponent to make a mistake (which he didn´t really) and me to avoid making any (which I didn´t really - on the first turn even).

Very good game - challenging but in the good way: Playing against a great team with a great coach. I probably picked up a few tricks from Malthor too. And all of this in a very nice and cordial tone.

Thumbs up!

Mathor: Rematch anytime - was a pleasure. Good luck in the Ulthuan Invitational...

A difficult proposition on paper for the Westend Girls taking on such an experienced team but their coach was a sporting man who took the challege by the horns.

The Falcons struggled to score partly because they had two new players on the ptich who they were trying to train in preparation for the Ulthuan Invitational Knock Out rounds, and partly because the Girls played great defence.

Although the Girls had suffered some casualties (two Blitzers MNG and apoth gone) they put on a very credible performance to be down 1-2 at half time after just faiing to score a equaliser after the Falcons crowded their cage in the dying minutes of the opening period.

The second period was a classic struggle for the ball with possession changing 6 times! The Falcons were pressured into throwing the ball upfield into dangerous territory and the Girls played superbly to win the ball.

An fierce battle for the ball followed with both sides winning the ball back repeatedly. It was a very close entertaining match with the Girls playing very well despite the Falcons starting to land some big hits and injuring and knocking out more players.

However, the Girls failed to force the seventh possession change of the half when their Catcher tripped (failed GFI roll either with reroll, or failed one, rerolled, then failed second) allowing the Falcons to clear the ball and score a third TD to seal the match.

It could so easily have been a draw.

Very well played by my opponent who used his team very well and only made one mistake in the game (exposing his ball carrier to a two dice blitz on the opening drive). It was a very close match despite the Str difference. Although I benched two good players in the second half to spread some SPP to the newer players, I still have a much stronger team on the pitch than my opponent so full credit to him for a toughly fought sporting match.

Good luck with your recovery and I look forward to playing you again sometime.
