“A real unlucky game for the Alliance.

The Alliance challenged the Squeakers as they were due to play a Skaven team in their league and they were hoping for a Virus and some nice handicaps.

They did get a virus leaving the Squeakers with just 10 for the match and it looked very grim for the skaven team. However, they started with a blitz and stole the ball and looked set to score the first touchdown until their Gutter Runner tripped on some grass (snake eyes on GFI) and lost the ball as he crossed the end zone!

The Alliance recovered the ball and effected an easy score but during this very short passage of play, the Squeakers had serious injured two Alliance players (MNG) and also had one of the Storm Vermins dodge his way into the casualty box (failed 3+ dodge, failed reroll) leaving them with only 9 players! Despite this, the Alliance were unable to stop the Squeakers from scoring a reply on their drive to even the scores.

On the next drive the Alliance had some unfortunate bumbling on offence where first their Dragon Warrior almost dropped a pass (Foul Appearance turning a 2 to a 1, costing a Team RR) and then a Lion Warrior tripped (snake eyes) when trying to dodge after being handed the ball. The Squeakers were able to score on this turnover to take a 2-1 lead into half time instead of trailing 1-2.

In the second half, the Squeakers started in offence and scored relatively quickly. The Alliance lost the ball temporarily when a Squeakers pass blocker caused the Lineman who caught the ball to run a long way around and he tripped and fell (failed GFI) and the ball bounced free!

The Squeakers tried to recover the ball but it was too much for their Thrower who knocked himself out trying to get to the ball and the Alliance breathed a sigh of relief as they brought the score to 3-2 in the Squeakers' favour.

On the next drive, the Squeakers dropped a TD pass and the Alliance recovered the ball, but only for a second as their Lineman Baliab the Bright then was tackled trying to dodge away with the ball (snake eyes) and he killed himself falling onto the astroturf! Unfortunately for the Alliance, their apothecary was not on the ball and Baliab was not saved (1 on the Apothecary roll too).

To make things worse for the Alliance, their Lineman Ucatenh The Fierce was serious injured seconds later as the Squeakers blitzed him to move him away from the loose ball.

The Squeakers scored to take a 4-2 lead and then ran away from the Alliance in the dying minutes of the match as the shell-shocked and now angry high elves scored a final TD.

Very very bad luck there for Uber. He is a friendly coach who just got absolutely screwed by the dice today. I did 3 CAS and there was a fourth from a snake eyes dodge, and all were SI or worse, with no Badly Hurts at all. Plus the apothecary failing.

I only had 10 players to start the match and this was soon reduced to 9 yet I still won because of the cruddy rolls for my opponent. Eg rolling the snake eyes to dodge with his Lion Warrior late in the first half and losing the ball and conceding a TD to me when instead, he should have scored and most likely taken a 2-1 lead into half time.

Simply not Uber's day. I had some bad luck too (eg the snake eyes to score on the blitz) but overall, the dice were much kinder to me.
