That was a fantastic start for the DDs. Although not playing at the top of their abilities they sure launched a few great plays. A few players really stand out. First Robert de Montesquiou who probably saved the game in turn one by getting a lucky 1db pow on the ballcarrier on the opponents flank. Not only does he knock the hobbo down, but also he manages to kill the poor bastard. The best part of this is that it only left three hobgoblins on the opposing team. This left us in a supreme position to score the first rebound touchdown, and we didn’t. Suddenly all the dandies got all worked up on the scent of fresh blood on the pitch and totally messed their play up. Need less to say, Heach coach “Beau” wasn’t exactly delighted. One down and not even any blood on his hands!
During the next drive Robert de Montesquiou felt inspired and tried to cause some more mayhem, to no avail. He managed to knock himself over no less than twice. After some true star-play from Lord Byron, Romaine Brooks tried to make a very difficult pass from the midst of a dwarf cage – but didn’t. “Beau” managed to sneak a fist in-between the light hobgoblin armour and managed to badly hurt another one. With a third knocked out one one hobgoblin remained to handle the ball.
At halftime “Beau” showed off his raging anger and whipped the sissies into submission, and with a threat of the death penalty he sent them out on the pitch again. With only one HG on the opposing team all we had to do was to knock that guy down and keep him there. This proved harder than it would seem at first glance. He shielded that poor bastard well and after some general carnage we managed to even out the score to 1-1. And that looked for a long while as it would be the final score, until “Beau” himself pulls of this remarkable running game for the second touchdown!
I would say that the Dandies had some real help from pure luck in winning this game, but as always just put your players in a position to do the impossible, and sometimes, just sometimes luck shines upon you.
