Add nearly 50TS deficit to 2 useless handicaps, and mix in a little -11% luck differential, and you get one heckuvva arse whuppin'
Might have just pulled it off, but for failing my first GFI turn 1. So I was naturally afraid to chance another. Leaving my ball carrier just in Blitz range, with a 4+ dodge to get him.
Which he made. And the ball scattered onto his Blitzer. Who caught it.
But no fear, 3 gutters down pitch, just need to dodge with lino for a 2 die Blitz on his Blitzer and pick up the ball with remaining gutter runner...the dodge...1 RR 1.
That was pretty much the ball game right there. A few assorted casualties followed, since my rats were all caught standing in TZ like a bunch of idiots due to the turnover. He caged up and moved to mid field, where I reluctantly deployed my fireball. Again Juan showed up, and only two of the 5 orcs went down, leaving me a dubious 1 die blitz, which failed.
So if the first two turns weren't the ball game, that sure was.
Scamper tried, tirelessly Leap-Blitzing the ball carrier for 2 die against, but never got anywhere, ending each play with having to run out of the cage for his dear life. Eventuall he got Badly Hurt, so even those attempts stopped.
After the second touchdown, game officially over, but thought I would try to skill up Karl. He mis throws the pass, and orcs recover. Sigh Turn 15, suddenly my rats are all that! Biter takes down a ST5 BOB for KO, and my DP KO's Morg...though his thick skull keeps him on the pitch. And I get caught. But argue the call! I'll never know if it was pity from the ref or the malice he saw in Biter's eye as he blew his whistle...
Turn 16, Karl tries again, this time making it, with the help of my last RR. Joy!
After the game, Biter's intimidation of the officials backfires, as this demn SPP hog is awarded MVP for the game (for his turn 15 KO I suppose? It would be the only thing the rats did well all game I guess...
