A match that actually looked very close on paper. Whilst the Amazons had 15 higher TS, most of this was due to extra MA on their throwers (+9TS?) and a Catcher with AG4 and two doubles but no block!

The Amazons certainly felt under pressure with the handicap being I Am The Greatest...

Anyway, the High Martial Artists started in offence, but only got two players into the Amazons half after a very unlucky dodge (snake eyes, burning a RR).

The Amazons pushed into the Artists half forcing the Artists to really earn their score (he needed 5x 2+ rolls to get the ball to his scorer after a passing. My opponent did score, but I was satisfied that it cost another RR.

The Amazons on offence pushed forward hard and formed a cage deep in their opponent half. The Artists mobbed up against the cage, but the Amazons were able to push their way out (lots and lots of blocks yielding just one pow) and score (needed a 2+ dodge and 2+ GFI in the end).

On the next drive, the Artists had a Quick Snap and quickly pushed into the Amazon half on the right flank. The Zons had a horrid time (2 double skulls from 3 blocks) and were caught flat footed.

The Artists took their time setting up after using a RR to GFI and did not really press home their advantage. The Amazons applied some pressure which was not really going to be enough and sure enough, the Artists sent the ball downfield to a player who could run in and score.

However, instead of scoring, the Artists tried to delay/stall and a player failed his dodge, giving the Amazons another chance to stop the score.

A 3+ dodge and then a one dice pow (took a reroll) did the job and the ball was knocked free. The ball fell into the crowd who threw it back onto the pitch in a favourable position for the Amazons. The fortunate ladies picked up the ball with a Catcher and then had more luck to survive 4 dice of blocks and not lose the ball.

The Amazons ran the ball upfield and almost lost the ball when trying to hand it off to a Blitzer but a lucky scatter saw the ball land back on the Catcher who had the ball in the first place!

The Amazon ball carrier survived another blitz (2 dice) and then managed to hand off the ball to a Blitzer who ran in the score with no rerolls left (3+ catch, 2 + GFI) to take a 2-1 lead.

Second half, the Amazons formed a cage on the line of scrimmage but found themselves under extreme pressure as the Artists mobbed them.

It took some one dice blocks (needing some pushes) to open up a path for the Amazon quarterback to run the ball up to their catcher who dodged her way to a score and take the Amazons to commanding 3-1 lead.

All was not great in the Amazon camp though as their apothecary had been used to save one of their lineman from a killing blow.

The next kickoff yielded a blitz for the Amazons! They managed to steal the ball, only to lose it and steal it back and then lose it again!

Whilst this fight for the ball transpired, tragedy struck for the Amazons as their Thrower Kirsten Dunst killed herself attempting what looked like an advantageous block (2 dice, netting Skull and Skull/Pow, rerolled into the same then RIP, no apoth!).

The Amazons recovered the ball once more and then had some great luck befall them when the Artists burnt a RR doing a dodge, and then rolled a skull on a one dice block on my ball carrier.

It was then an easy score from there to take a 4-1 lead and the game fizzled out after that.

I certainly had most of the luck that game with a lot of rolls going my way. The only real bad luck for me was the death of my Thrower on a 2 dice block my choice!

My opponent was very unlucky this game. At 1-1, he was all set to delay a few turns and possibly go into half time with a 2-1 lead. Instead he fails a 2+ roll and I get another shot at the ball and this turns into a score for me.

Second half, I started in offence so taking the 3-1 lead was not that unexpected, but then the Blitz put an end to any chance for my opponent to score as the fight for the ball ate up quite a few turns and then his one dice Skull after failing a dodge not too long before gave me the easy setup for TD 4.

Played this game hard, and pretty clinically, did not even attempt a single pass! Two touchbacks did help in that regard though. Seemed like it was going to be rough going when I had those two Double Skulls trying to stop my opponent setting up a 2-1 lead in the first half, but the bad luck transferred to him soon after and I had the dice rolls pretty much go my way after that apart from the silly suicide death of my best Thrower heh.

Anyways, lets see where the team goes now.
