Doom Glade Demons
Edging out eternal rivals Eye and Arrow, the Doom Glade Demons won the Ulthuan & Naggaroth regional title, further establishing their image as the true league up-and-comers. With an excellent core of blitzers and the athletic freak Cargavel Stormcrow, a Demons win would be a statement to CIBBL and the definitive consecration of the Druchii team in the upper tiers.
The year so far
4-1-0, 1st place in the Ulthuan & Naggaroth regionals, with only the Clar Karond Black Widows able to hold them to a draw
What’s hot
The Demons are on a roll, scoring 11 touchdowns and combining for 84 SPPs just this Spring. One can not stress enough how important Cargavel Stormcrow is to the team, with his incredible mix of strength and agility, but the Demons are far from being a one trick pony and the experience is extremely spread out between all the players. The Demons probably have the best core of linemen in the whole league, and they are taking full advantage of it, firing all cylinders. They are a very skilled team that can punch up at bigger, stronger opponents with surgical precision, and that’s the closest you can get to an unstoppable behemoth.
What’s not
Context is important. While it’s true that coach Meanandugl’s boys have done a fantastic job in every department, it’s also true that the opposition they faced was never famed for their ability to beat the opposing team into a pulp. The Demons are extremely skilled at making their number count, however there’s no shortage of teams that love to make contact in this Qualifier, and the true durability of the Demons is a big question mark. Can an ill-timed block be the proverbial spanner in the works for the Dark Elves?
Player to watch
Stormcrow. But you’ve heard about him – so let’s talk about Sinthoras Bloodflame. The brutal duo of Bloodflame and his fellow blitzer Malaguth Blackmoon is averaging a terrifying 0,75 casualties per game, but that’s not all. Thanks to his agility and mobility, Sinthoras is a huge threat to any organized offense. If set up efficiently, no ball carrier will be safe.
Key stat
12 – the unbeaten streak of Doom Glade. They are the definition of a hot team. The last team to beat them, however, is in this same qualifier…
