The Hopefuls

Eye and Arrow
Ulthuan & Naggaroth’s yang to the Demons yin, the story of the two teams is so closely intertwined that they make up the best rivalry that we’re going to see this summer. The girls from Avelorn struggled a little bit last spring after being on top the year before and getting so close to snatch Copper, but the two have always given life to great battles on the pitch. Right now, the Demons are on top, but Eye and Arrow have the motivation and talent to give their divisional rivals a hard time

The year so far
2-1-2, good for only 4th in the Ulthuan & Naggaroth regionals but with a brutal -10 difference in casualties

What’s hot
The clear strong point of the roster is the ability of even the humblest of linewomen to create passing plays. Every player but one on the roster has completed at least one pass, and the sisters and handmaidens have the pace to keep the ball away from the opponent. It doesn’t hurt that these elves possess quite a bit of muscle in case the opponents want to get their hands dirty. While they don’t have any freak of nature like Lashweaver or Cargavel Stormcrow, the Sisters are a very complete team that can adapt easily to the state of the game.

What’s not
Eye and Arrow’s blanket is extremely short, with only 11 rostered players to begin the season. While this isn’t exactly a huge problem, they do so while not having the leanest of salary caps, nor a fat treasury. With so many killing machines infesting the qualifier, and a mediocre AV value across the board, the Sisters must rely on their superior STATs to stay out of harm’s way – otherwise, the tourney can become very ugly really fast.

Player to watch
With the talent level already so high across the roster, it’s hard to pick a stand-out name. For the future, I’d keep an eye out for Arapi though. With only a game under her belt, the young Sister can already flaunt three completions and the equivalent strength of a Chaos Warrior – all while being fast, agile and adept at the run-and-gun game Eye and Arrow can employ so efficiently. Durability may raise some concern, but if this girl can survive unscathed just a couple of games we might have a star in the making.

Key stat
3 – the number of games the Sisters were held scoreless by the opposition. All these losses came against opponents with high attrition resistance, with the exception of the Stone Prince’s Men.
