Scribbl Climax VII

The Crimson Fins have the shark’s share of the vote and to the untrained eye look favourites for the division. However, I would suggest that the voters have taken the bait laid down by the Fins’ heavy marketing strategy. They are one of the most well advertised, and hence well known, teams across CIBBL often pushing them upwards in the polls despite actually running a <50% win rate and boasting no major silverware. A second place finish in the most recent Regionals would carry more weight if the group had consisted of more then just three teams.
Polling next highest is the Nehekhara Knightmares, however, whilst having an experienced coach at the helm, the Nightmares have openly declared that they are not ‘in it to win it’, but rather operate with a more macabre goal in mind.
In this reporters opinion, the team to watch out for in this division polled third in the voting and is up and coming side, Ynys Morion Mabsantwyr. Still relative newcomers to CIBBL, they boast a very impressive 7/3/2 record and showed some real pedigree in the most recent Regionals by holding not one, but two, top SCRIBBL Climax Qualifier division teams (Beerbog Behemoths and Misty Isle Gators) to a draw. Ynys for the wins? - You heard it here first!
Next in the pollings are the Black Monolith Worshippers and the Spite Reach Corsairs, two teams which will be waiting in the wings ready to try to take advantage of any mistake from the more fancied teams. Without enough matches under their belts to really yet determine their status within the CIBBL universe, both teams have a few wins to their name already and have shown they can be potential contenders.
The ever popular Bear Clutchers continue to draw the crowds in droves to their matches where you just never know what will happen. They remain undefeated against both the top two seeds in the division and have never faced the rest, so despite polling lower than most, they cannot be counted out as possible contenders.
The fans would absolutely love it if the Clutchers found themselves clutching a trophy come seasons end.
Aurons, another relative CIBBL newcomer, has a mixed record and more than a touch of the unknown about them coming into the SCRIBBL Climax. As a result they have dipped below the voters’ radar. Aurons has beaten the Outlaws previously, but has also gone down to a defeat without reply to this reporters pick, Ynys Morion Mabsantwyr.
The Karak Azog Outlaws have to be considered the real wildcards of the division. As might be reasonably expected, their employment of such wild and outlandish tactics on he pitch, as befitting any Goblin team worth their salt, means that they will either win big or fall hard. The feather in their cap to date is a spectacular 2-0 victory over the Dwarf Slayers outfit, Karak Kadrin Slayers, a team with with twice the experience and almost double the TV.
Underestimate a Goblin team at your peril.
