Of all the divisions I expected to be the closest in terms of votes, this one wasn’t quite what I expected. But here we are, 4 teams tied in 2nd place for the most votes, and the public has given the Scions of Neferata just very slightly more support than the rest of this bracket by one singular vote. Alongside the Vampheroes they represent some of the more recent Vampire teams to join the packed and stacked Sylvania region. Unlike the Vampheroes they had a rather awful Spring season which ended for them with 4 losses and a single draw, and yet they managed to land a tier above the Von Carstein brood when the lots were drawn for the Qualifiers. We at SCRIBBL would like to clearly state that this is entirely because the Scions are a more senior team than the Vampheroes and has nothing to do with any connections to the seeding commission whatsoever and that such assumptions are mere slanderous libel by rival teams.

As much as I would be happy to write about all four teams that make up ‘second place’ in this vote, I am restricted by how much I can write in these instances. So for the sake of expediency we will instead focus on the Secret League only teams, rather than the standard Orc and Dwarf teams. Starting with the Serpent-Guards of Khalida. Out of all the slow and trudging teams of the Lands of the Dead, the Serpent-Guards are the real odd-hats amongst that normally slow and bash-centric fraternity, for the simple reason that they have access to bombs, chainsaws and hypnotic gazes, the only undead team in the entire league with access to secret weaponry beyond certain star players. And whilst their early days in league at large may have seen them come up short (an issue all secret weapon based rosters encounter due to a lack of basic skills starting out), their victory and tie within the Qualifier 8 are a sure sign that the stars have aligned for them, and now the future is in their hands.

And for the Revenge Street Reapers we can make time for a SCRIBBL retrospective! Back during the Summer of 2603 I wrote an article in SCRIBBL #2 breaking down the teams taking part within the Youngbloods XI competition celebrating the opening of the Haunted Hills. It has been a whole year since I wrote that piece and half of those teams had unfortunately retired since then, but the other half however are still going strong including these ghastly gents. So it’s now one year later, how are they doing? Well, they could certainly be doing worse, as with the previous team they have a lot of weird and exciting options at the cost of the unexciting but practical options that most player thrive on starting out and that made some of their earlier games difficult as a result, but entering into Mid TV those initial little bumps on the road of progression have been flattened out and from this point on the Reaper will be hitting their glide, and with the lithe and slippery Slaaneshi next on the cards, their ethereal defenses will be put to the test.
