Vlaedi slowly walks to the podium and gazes into the assembled group of reporters and officials.
"Yeah, so they told me I had to come and answer some questions or i'd get fined, so ask away."
"Isn't coach Tzalaran supposed to be answering our questions."
"Unfortunately he's indisposed, raving about some ritual and he can't be arsed to show up here, so if you don't have any questions for me, i've fulfilled the..."
"The Corsairs made a fine showing in the Autumn session, how do you expect to carry over that success into the Spring?"
"We don't. Look, we'll go out and play hard, but there are 2 Gold teams in this region, not to mention the other elf coaches who can win any match when things break their way, who were in higher cups than us. We'll have our work cut out for us, but we're not going to change anything we've been doing since the end of last spring's regional."

Vlaedi stares at the questioner with murder in his eyes. The reporter begins to feel nervous, shifting from one foot to another as the Shadowblade doesn't blink or move for 30 seconds. "I'm only here so I don't get fined."
"So nothing special? We've heard the coach has started to delve into blood magik and curses, which you are well aware are completely outside the rules of the league. any truth to these allegations?"

"What about the bounties placed on the Star Players of the Demons? Did those come from the Corsairs?"

"Who in the region do you think has the inside track to winning the division?"

Vlaedi looks around at the reporters and sighs. "Eye and Arrow is the team to beat. The Demons would have been as winners last spring, but they have had too much turnover on their roster, and the Avelorn witches are playing like a well tuned machine. The Mimes are going to be a tough out, as their coach knows how to use them, but they currently lack the firepower of the top two teams. Earthquake Valley will be a wildcard, but they lack the firepower to match the top teams and will need some breaks to take the region. I recall what it was like to be a rookie team coming into this region, so I sympathize with the new witch elf team, but they have no shot."
"What about the Corsairs? Where will they place?"
"I'm only here so I don't get fined." The set of his jaw let the assembled reporters know he wasn't going to say any more, and they slowly drifted away as Vlaedi glared at them while tapping the hilt of his stiletto...
