THE GREAT BRIBERY
THE GREAT BRIBERY

Overview

After finishing their team's regular Team Management Coaches enter the so called Great Bribery.
In this phase Coaches can invest their team's Treasury in several illegal activities in hope to gain a serious advantage when heading into the next matchday.
Coaches can bribe Star Players to play exclusively for their team or steal other team's players, corrupt league officials to change the league's ruleset, browse the Black Market for stolen magic objects or simply dangerous Loot, hire insane Goblin Cheaters or make a deal with the even more insane Warpstone Cultits. Or they can simply bet on upcoming league games.

SENDING BRIBES
After readying their team each Coach or their Representative sends a direct message to the league's designated league official (XXXL Leeg will run Bribebot in the league's Discord channel).
The message must consist a complete list of what the Coach wants to buy and what they are willed to pay. These offers are referred to as Bribes.

A Coach can send in any amount of Bribes as long as the sum of all Bribes can be covered by their team's Treasury.

When all Coaches sent their Bribes all offers of the first Bribery round will be revealed, offers for Players and Items compared and teams edited accordingly (add Players and Loot to the teams with the highest Bribe, adjust Team Biography, transfer spent Gold to the league's Petty Cash).

If two Coaches or more made the same offer for the same Player or Item a second Bribery round between these Coaches begins. Coaches participating in a second round can only add or withdraw from their Bribe. Repeat until a single top offer remains.
If no single top offer can be made both teams receive 1d6*10% of their Bribe back and the Player or Item will remain in the Free Agent or Black Market Pool.

If a Coach wins a Bribe he has to pay and can not withdraw from their offer. A Coach may add or use the bribed object to their or any other team in the league.

If a Coach fails or withdraws from a Bribe their team will receive 1d6*10% of their individual Bribes back, the rest of the Gold mysteriously reappears in the league's Petty Cash.

Example:

Round 1:
Four teams have 400K Gold left after their legal Team Management and send in bribes.
Badland Baddies Ripper: 300K Corruption: 100K
Greenboyz Ripper: 270K Bomber Dribblesnot: 130K
Snivelling Gitz Ripper: 300K Dribblesnot: 100K
Scarcrag Scrappers Dribblesnot: 70K Corruption: 70K Black Market Access: 70K Madcap Miggz: 190K

Result Round 1:
Badland Baddies pay 300K and enter a second round to bribe Ripper, pay 100K for one Corruption Event. XXXL Leeg adds 100K to the league's Petty Cash.
Greenboyz Ripper roll a 2 and receive 54K from their failed Ripper Bribe, pay 130K and add Bomber Dribblesnot to their team's roster (player value 130K). XXXL Leeg adds 316K to the league's Petty Cash.
Snivelling Gitz Ripper pay 300K and enter a second round to bribe Ripper, roll a 1 and receive 10K from their failed Dribblesnot Bribe. XXXL Leeg adds 90K to the league's Petty Cash.
Scarcrag Scrappers roll a 6 and receive 42K from their failed Dribblesnot Bribe, roll a 1 and receive 7K for their failed Corruption Bribe, pay 70K and get to pick a Card Deck from the Black Market, pay 190K and add Madcap Miggz to their roster. XXXL Leeg adds 351K to the league's Petty Cash.

Round 2:
Two teams enter a second round to bid for Ripper. The Badland Baddies already spent their remaining budget while the Gitz were lucky to get 10K back from their Dribblesnot offer.
Badland Baddies Ripper: 0K
Snivelling Gitz Ripper: 10K

Result 2:
Badland Baddies roll a 6 and receive 180K from their failed Ripper Bribe. XXXL Leeg adds 120K to the league's Petty Cash.
Snivelling Gitz pay 10K and add Ripper to their team (player value 310K). XXXL Leeg adds 310K to the league's Petty Cash.

STAR PLAYERS

XXXL Leeg features an expanded roster of Star Players that can be induced before a match as usual or be bribed to play exclusivley for one team.
Coaches can view available Star Players and their current Costs in the Free Agent Pool.
Players that agreed with a team about Exclusive Rights disappear from the list of Free Agents and join their new team for the Costs of their Player Value.

EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS

A Star Player with Exclusive Rights joins a team's regular Roster.
The Star Player can now use the team's Apoth in case of In-Game Injuries but can not gain additional Skills and will not keep SPP.
A Star Player's contract lasts until the End of the Season or a Season Reset enforced by the New CEO Corruption Event.
In these cases the Star Player returns with his Standard Prize to work as a Free Agent available for all other teams.

Coaches from other teams can try to steal the Star Player during Great Bribery phases. Please refer to the STEALING PLAYERS chapter.

Star Players that suffer a Serious Injury or get (nearly) killed during a match will also leave the team. In this case the Star Player will blame the team's Coach for the injury and declare to never ever play again under the same Coach (lasts until Season Reset)
The Star Player visists his Private Apoth and returns with his Standard Prize to work as a Free Agent available for all other teams.

A Coach can fire a Star Player. In this case the Star Player declares to never play again under the same Coach (lasts until Season Reset) and returns with his Standard Prize to work as a Free Agent available for all other teams.

PLAYER COSTS

Each Star Player begins the Season with a Starting Prize which needs to be paid to induce the player or must be paid at minimun when bidding for their Exclusive Rights.
Star Players in the Free Agent Pool that will not be induced during a matchday will miss out their payday and lower the Prize for their services by 10K.
Star Players that are high in demand will become aware of their status and ask for more money each time they get induced by 10K.
A Star Player's Costs can not go further down or up than 50K from the original Starting Prize.
A Star Player who got not hired for a whole season may retire from playing Blood Bowl.
Any Star Player Prize will be set back to the Starting Prize at the beginnig of a new season, after a Season Reset enforced by the New CEO Corruption Event or after leaving a team and returing to the Free Agent Pool.

STEALING PLAYERS

Coaches can offer players of other teams to make them swap teams.
To bribe a player the Coach must make an offer for their current player costs and an additional amount of Gold.
If a Player received a bribe their current Coach gets the options to either match the offer or withdraw.
Coaches can try to steal one player per Great Bribery round.

PLAYER JOINS NEW TEAM

The bribing team pays the bribe and the XXXL Leeg adds the money to the league's Petty Cash.
The player will join the new team. The player keeps all Skills and Stats. The Player Costs are raised accordingly to the bribe sum. The Player gains a temporary Loner Skill for (Bribesum:10) games. The Player can not be fired until loss of Loner Skill.

PLAYER REMAINS

The bribing team receives 1d6*10% of their offer back, the team that keeps the player pays the new sum to the league's Petty Cash (the team may enter temporary negative Treasury. The player remains with his current team and becomes really popular, the Player Costs are raised accordingly, the Player gets a free Fan Favorite for (Bribesum:10) games.

Example:

The Goblin Blurgudz Smirfangs (worth 60K) received a bribe of 80K from the Rotskin Crawlers to join their team.

His current Coach in of the team Badland Baddies decided to match the offer. Blurgudz gains the Fan Favorite skill for the next 2 games but will cost 80K. The XXXL Leeg transfers 80K from the Baddie's Treasury to the league's Petty Cash.
The Crawlers roll a 1 and receive 16K back from their failed bribe. The XXXL Leeg adds 64K to the league's Petty Cash.

The Badland Baddies decide to let Blurgudz go. The Crawlers spend 80K and Blurgudz joins the Crawlers with updated Player Costs and gains the Loner Skill for the next 2 games. The XXXL Leeg adds 80K to the league's Petty Cash.

CORRUPT OFFICIALS

Coaches can try to bribe league officials to manipulate the league.
These manipulations are represented with Corruption Event Cards.
Coaches send in their offers (starting at 50K) for Cards during the Bribery phase.
Coaches receive 1d6*10% back from failed Bribes.
The XXXL Leeg adds any spent money to the league's Petty Cash.

If a Coach has access to a Corruption Event they have to add the information in their Team's Biography.
A Coach with access to a Corruption Event can activate the Card at any time between Matchdays.
The Event's effect will last for one Matchday, one Team Management phase and one Great Bribery round.
If a Corruption Event Card has been sold it disappears from the available list of Events until a Season Reset.

Players can refer to the list of available Corruption Events at the league's Cheat Sheet.

BLACK MARKET

Goblin Thieves that pretend to be Wizards, retired Goblin Players that pretend to be Coaches, Trolls that begin to be too smart for their own good, Goblin Cheaters with illegal and criminal inventions and crippled Players that simply don't want to retire from Blood Bowl offer their services in the Black Market.

To access the Black Market a Coach can either try to activate the Filch skill of one of his Players or attempt to send in the highest bid for Black Market Access during a Bribery phase (starting at a minimum bid of 50K).

Please refer to the Black Market page for details
