Duane was your typical Sartosan freebooter and scum-for-hire. He had been kicked from his last crew for insubordination, and now he was spending his days gambling and fighting in the taverns of Deadman’s Docks. The Sartosa Black Flags crew was looking for a substitute for an injured player and Duane saw it as a great opportunity to get paid for a bit of brawling, which was about the only thing he was good at.

He found more violence than he bargained for when he was beaten to a pulp by raving mad-ghost Otto Hartwich. As a temporary substitute he was of course ignored by the Black Flags apothecary, and Duane found himself press-ganged into service with the Haunters.

In his 8th game for the Haunters Duane was injured by a lowly squig herder. As Lich Coach Drache deemed that he was beyond recovery and had nothing more to offer the team, Duane was promptly fired.

Now Duane is back in Sartosa, haunting the Deadman’s Docks (the irony is lost on him). Every night he lurks in the shadows outside some dockside tavern, hoping to scare a drunken sailor into a watery grave.
