Bifur was killed in the first qualifying round of the Crown of Sand tournament, when he was fouled by a frustrated group of older dwarves, who had been embarrassed by a 2-0 Miners victory. The apothecary was too busy dealing with a potentially fatal injury elsewhere, and Bifur was left to bleed out on the pitch as the rest of the team celebrated the victory with the fans.
