He’s not really a thrall in the normal sense of the word. Prior to joint the team he didn’t even believe in Vampires, let alone hang out with them. When he applied he thought that his years of mercenary work in the deserts and among the barbarian tribes qualified him for the job. Turns out it wasn’t, it was the tattoo one tribe gave him showing his blood type that made him uniquely qualified. Two days experience as a blood bag was sufficient for Carpenter and his merry band of vamps.
