Lothar was a tinkerer just as his father and his father before him. Tinkering was in his blood and it showed. At a young age Lothar was already inventing machines and making enhancements to the mining equipment. He was the youngest head of the guild ever and the elders constantly relied on him to come up with solutions for whatever problems the dwarfs encountered.

Facing the greenskins of Karahn-Carach he got ordered to invent a new weapon to turn the tide of battle. After shutting himself into his workshop for weeks he finaly emerged with a thriumphant smile. Lothar called his invention the Deathroller!

But the maiden voayage was a disaster! The pilot instantly lost control over the giant machine and plowed into the crowd gathered for the event. 19 young dwarfs lost their lives and 24 more were wounded. The elders decided the machine was to dangerous to put into use and banished Lothar to a remote corner of the iron mines.
