The Bywater Green Dragons were created in a stroke of disastrous misfortune by their team captain, coach, and founder, Twiggy the Hasty, following a rather major case of miscommunication.

Twiggy was once a regular starter for the Mirkwood Miscreants; a Wood Elf team in which Twiggy struggled to find his calling. Having decided to leave the Miscreants, Twiggy set out across the land in the dim hope of finding his long lost love and wife, Weepy.

After many trials and tribulations, Twiggy, at last, found his beloved. Weepy had taken up residence amidst a small community of Halflings, where she watched over their crops and gardens. In return, the Halflings worshipped Weepy in all but name and spent many happy afternoons dancing around her and playing music for her.

Weepy was delighted to be reunited with her lost husband, and the Halflings duly took the oversized Twiggy into their community. They spent many happy months together. That is until one day, Twiggy decided to teach some young halflings how to play Blood Bowl.

Twiggy was a good teacher. He showed them how to pass, kick, and run with the ball. He taught them how to keep score, and how to lay out the pitch. What Twiggy never once mentioned, was that Blood Bowl was a contact sport. He did not want to hurt his new little friends.

This would backfire hugely during the team's first competitive match against a travelling group of Squig Herders.

It was only by fortuitous luck that the Halflings went 1-0 up before the Squig's properly got stuck in, but before they knew it, Vice Captain and team punter, Tubdo Bigboot, was shoved into the crowd and torn to pieces, followed by several incapacitating injuries which left the team down to 6 players in their last drive.
