In 2985 the proud and benevolent bretonnian trader Phillippe DuCæur set about restoring bretonnias bloodbowling honour in the aftermath of the notoriously unsuccessful and eagerly honest Bright Crusaders. On a sunny afternoon in July 2986 he was able to present the result: the fabulous Cæurs de Couronne. Sadly Phillippes economic skills by far outshone his tactical ability, and after a horrenduous season as head-coach he passed the seat on to a compent veteran of the business, Karl Von Überbögen, who had recently retired as head coach of The Marauders. V. Überbögen led the team to numerous victories in the SBLG (Le Seulement Bretonnian League des Gentlemen) building a hard-linen, compact defence around star Ogro M'Ombro and a swift and versatile offence with the eccentric Quarterback Francois Chambriard-Victorienne and ace-dodging blitzer Robert Parez as leading figures.
