TEAM BIO

Spawned from the living mansion of the Fly Lord himself The Couriers are divine vessels of the most exotic and deadly diseases. Dedicated towards spreading these maladies Coach Doomspume Spiderling - a meagre tallyman of Nurgle - suggested that the Blood Bowl circuit might be the perfect platform from which to spread.

The most disgusting and dreadful pests have been embodied by the six Plaguebearers of the team. Supported by their nasty minions they seek to infect as many teams, races and lands as possible by playing some contagious Blood Bowl...

SEASONS

Youngblood XVIII - W/D/L - 2/1/3 - 5th place
Game 1: vs. Terror-Firma, 0-1 loss
Game 2: vs. Pahuax Huntmasters, 1-4 loss
Game 3: vs. Charnel Valley Ouroboros, 1-2 loss
Game 4: vs. Bleakwood Haunters, 2-1 win
Game 5: vs. Frederheim Renegades, 0-0 draw
Game 6: vs. Tor-Achare White Lions, Win via forfeit

Recap:
First game vs. some immovable objects of clay and stone. Really hard to infect! The wee ones felt the rage of the earthlings. They ran away with the victory at the very end. Plaguehelm did succeed in injuring one of those brawny stone-men but unfortunately the thing resisted our potent germs.

Game 2 was vs. a Pygmy team. Small sunburned wildlings. All of which were immune to our deadly diseases! They outran us and won a massive victory. Toadflesh got Couriers' 1st TD when a pygmy gently pushed it into the EZ trying to avoid further bloodshed. Smart play - the wildlings were very crunchy when stepped upon.

Third game was quite equal. Again the opposition was immune to our maladies but our sticky germy fists hit hard. Polypungus even got a TD. In the end everything was ruined by nasty cleansing rain and the deadites got the victory. Three ‘fresh’ nurglings sprouted after this game.

Then something exhilarating happened… The Couriers won a game. Star player Rottgher Rustywound had been enlisted as facilitator of rusty infections. The banshees were cut down more than once by its blade and the plaguebearers pummeled through the ethereal defense. Quite an arousing feeling - both winning and stabbing shrieking creatures.

4th game: A bunch of slaaneshi fanatics swaggered onto the pitch. Because of a deep kick and a riot in the stands due to the pungent mix of foul odeurs coming from the pitch (The Renegades use A LOT of perfume…) The Couriers had virtually no chance reaching the opposite end before half-time. The Renegades fared way better in 2H. Maiming (and retiring) Blighthorn and injuring many nurglings and one more Plaguebearer. But they tried to stall and were punished by a dodging Plaguebearer blitzing their ballhandler within minutes of the final whistle.

Last game unfortunately didn’t happen. The White Lion elves would have been fun to foul and infest!

Tournament MVP:
Verrucugnus Toadflesh
- for its impressive ability to hold the ball despite gangrene fingers and even reach the opponents EZ to score some of them touchdowns.

Winter Year Six - W/D/L - 3/2/0
Game 1: vs. Waystone Outcasts, 1-0 win
Game 2: vs. Cerberus Beast, 1-1 draw
Game 3: vs. Mountains of Mourn Tyrants, 2-0 win
Game 4: vs. Crystal Mere Keepers, 1-1 draw
Game 5: vs. Vanhaldenschlosse Horror, 2-1 win

Recap:
Going into winter ready to spread some spores The Couriers stumble across a team of soft-tissued humans looking for a game. They seem to know a lot of neat tricks but the nurglings swarm them and their fancy game collapses. Plaguehelm hunts down a loose ball and scores the winning TD.

A herd of beastmen dropped by the mansion for the 2nd winter game. Hard-hitting and ready for a fight. The Couriers almost had them cornered but a sneaky ungor snatched the ball after a scrum and tied the game in their last play.

Spiderling decided to go on the road. The 'Team Bus' (a giant slug..) brought the squad to the Mountains of Mourn. A succesful endeavor. Despite the heavy mountain rain and half-long soapy scrum The Couriers got their spit together and scored twice in 2H to win a massive victory of 2 to nothing. Newly spawned PB Goreblob had quite a game.

Then some spindly eerie elven ladies dropped by the House of Blight for a friendly bout. Their regenerating abilities kept them safe from harm during the first half but again 2H was strong for the Couriers. A pattern has begun to show. Gnarlsore really pulled his weight with 3 injuries with the nurgling Gherm mimicking his destructive moves and rackin' up 2 CAS for himself.

Final game of the Couriers winter campaign saw them line up against a squad of undead hulks. The Horror were, despite being a 'young' team, led by a very experienced coach. But The Couriers finished off the winter with another strong 2H scoring 2 TD's. The soaring (and farting) crowd were erupting in great bursts of joy (and farts) after a good season finish and the team feels confident heading into Spring season.

Tournament MVP:
Slaugox Gnarlsore
- for some massive blocking and crucial greasy uppercuts. 3 CAS vs. The Keepers.

Spring Year Six - W/D/L - 1/1/2 - 3rd place
Game 1: vs. Hierarchy of Anarchy, 1-1 draw
Game 2: vs. Eternal Ecstacy, 1-2 loss
Game 3: vs. Gliding 'n' Gnashing Gnaps, 2-1 win
Game 4: vs. BloodForce, 0-1 loss

Recap:
Springtime - flowers blooming... nah. Birds singing - nope! Daemons playing Blood Bowl - HELL YEAH! Malals hive army came by the mansion to hang out for the first game of spring. A tough match vs. nasty spider creatures with claws and a Ball & Chain horror. It ended in a fair draw but The Anarchy could become an even fiercer opponent next spring.

Then the phenomenon Lashweaver and its slaaneshi entourage Eternal Ecstacy invited The Couriers for a dance. Spiderling brought along Starplayer Rustywound and a wizard. The wiz bombed Lashweaver right off the pitch and into the injury box on T1 giving The Couriers the perfect start. But the daemonettes played well on their own aided by some poor ballhandling by the Couriers and they won the game. The Couriers came through the match virtually unscathed and that is a minor victory in Coach Spiderlings book.

Next up in The Courtyard: The Gnaps! Disgusting creatures of Tzeentch. They even brought along a clawed-up Lord of Change merc in hopes of injuring the PBs. After it messed up Gnarlsore (a bit) captain Plaguehelm took out that abomination. The blue and pink horrors crumbled after this blow and 1st victory of Spring ‘06 was a reality. Even Tzeentch couldn't change this.

Last game saw them line up against a horde of bloodthirsty beasts and their minions. Patient Zero joined the fun but didn’t enjoy his stay. He had two opportunities to escape with the ball but his mucus-ridden hands and feet failed him. The crowd had had enough and flinged a rock at him. Bye bye. The Khornates made sure the nurglings (and Plaguehelm) exploded like ripe zysts, secured the win and the title. Next year will be the year of the Couriers because this wasn’t...

Tournament MVP:
Verrucugnus Toadflesh
...again - for its ability in the scoring departement (because hitting isn't great…). 3 TD’s in the season and a crowd favorite. Will be exciting to follow the further development of Toadies skill set.

Summer Year Six - Skeggi Colonial Cup - W/D/L - 3/1/1 - 2nd Place
Game 1: vs. Quetza Coatlcah, 0-3 loss
Game 2: vs. Gorequeen's Raiders, 1-0 win
Game 3: vs. Cuexotl Jungle Daggers, 1-1 draw
Game 4: vs. Deluge-Bearers, 1-0 win
Game 5: vs. Gardeners of Nurgle, 2-1 win

Recap:
First summer game in Lustria and of course the Lizards - playing on home turf - outran the Couriers. Maybe the moisture and fresh jungle odeurs was a bit too overwhelming. Let them enjoy it while it lasts...Skeggi will be ours!

2nd game versus a squad of Norscan lunatics. The weather was fine but the pungent smells from new recruit Uconaabûlbox (and controversially also new skipper) dulled their senses and The Couriers beat them to a bloody pulp winning a huge victory of zero to one.

Then more lizzies. Wee ones… But fast and supported by big kroxigors. Plaguehelm quickly dispatched one to the infirmary. The skinks dodged through anyways (but barely) and scored. A short kick and Poxgut picking up meant The Couriers had an opportunity to equalize before the break. But the undergrowth mysteriously tripped Poxgut in the EZ. 2nd half started with a pitch invasion and The Couriers ran (walked) it in quickly hoping to get another shot at winning. But then came a tropic storm and the rain halted those plans. They proceeded to beat up a Starplayer and more skinks before the ref ended the game.

Next up: Stinky pest-ridden rats. Delicious! But not as stinky as The Couriers! A unified team halted the rats and splintered their attack formation in 1H. A couple of well placed uppercuts got key players from the opposition removed and The Couriers even had a couple of chances to score (just need to pick-up that ball-thing better…). 2nd Half went great. The rats squirmed and their censer-bearers got caught in tight gooey spots. Poxgut walked in the winning TD at the latest moment possible and the Deluge-Bearers were beaten.

Last bout saw a prestigious stand-off vs. a big Gardeners of Nurgle team. Fighting for 2nd place in The Skeggi this would prove to become one of the most stinky games ever played. The pungent odeurs even knocked out Uconaabûlbox and the rotspawn shortly into the game resulting in the Gardeners breaching the Couriers' defense with ease. The plaguebearers struggled to recover and a quick pestigor made it 1-0. The PB's pressured hard in the 2nd drive and managed to lock down potential threats with vicious fouling. A determined Poxgut ran in the ball for 1-1 at half. Then a deep kick and a LOS gridlocked in slime and powerful punching. A pestigor almost gets through but is denied by Goreblob. Suddenly The Couriers take out 3 players. Among them the Rotspawn. The pestigor is knocked down - and out - and Plaguehelm catches the ball like a not-smelly elf. It proceeds handing off to Poxgut (because it's too slow itself…) which unopposed runs in the 2-1 score. The Grandfather has spoken: The Couriers is HIS go-to team!

Tournament MVP:
Typhyidus Goreblob

- Unstoppable and unforgiving! ‘Gory’ injured 6 opponents during The Skeggi and was a huge part of gaining the 2nd place only losing out against the future winners of the Cup.

Autumn Year Six - Granite Division - W/D/L - 3/0/3 - 4th Place

Game 1: vs. Beegrok Massif Mob, Loss via forfeit
Game 2: vs. Library of Indra, 2-0 win
Game 3: vs. Gorequeen's Raiders, 0-2 loss
Game 4: vs. Oceanborn Sea Eagles, 0-1 loss
Game 5: vs. Khorne's Doombringers, 2-0 win
Game 6: vs. Ursun Throat Singers - Win via forfeit.

Recap:
After the succesful raid of Lustria the team went into hibernation. Unfortunately they remained cocooned too long and the CIBBL Autumn season kicked off with them obliviously napping away… The Orc Big 'Uns probably couldn't believe their luck when The CIBBL Officials granted them the victory in Game One. Spiderlings squad need to pick up pace quickly. Easier said than done...

Ready for the second game The Couriers blossomed into violence and superiority. Once again SP Rottgher Rustywound graced the roster. The Apes had no chance as they were steam rolled by mainly Slaugox and fouling nurglings. A very focused Uconaabûlbox almost got a TD but a desperate sacking by a feverish chimpanzee prevented this. Slaugox took over and got it done for him.

Third game was a drag. Experimentation with a gluey virus to make ballhandling easier had backfired and turned the hands of all players into vile broccoli. The Norscans played well having learned a lesson or two from their prior game vs. The Couriers. The nurglings were hit hard and the PB's were separated. First (regular) loss for a while. Spiderling needs to have an alternative gameplan ready for the next match.

Game 4 - more mediocreness… Against The Sea Eagles nothing really worked. The Plaguebearers fell like flies and the ball was left for the nurglings to handle. Never a good plan. The elves played hard and dirty. Their superior agility showed and The Couriers were outrun by the 'slow' elves. Even intense fouling didn't pay off. YUCK!

Then a bunch of Khorne lackeys showed up strudding their fancy uniforms and pointy horns. The Couriers were grumpy and took it out on the blood god thugs. And it became bloody allright... Goreblob handled the ball elegantly and scored a perfect 1st half - late - TD. The Doombringer's faced the music but never got into the rhythm. With their best players spending most of the match in the dug-out they could see 'The Pheculent' catching a scattered ball 'between layers' and proceeding to hand it off to Gnarlsore. 2-0 and game over for the khornish fan-boys.

Last game unfortunately did not happen. Apparantly there’s some kind of epidemic laying waste to the region of Kislev these days and The Singers got themselves some sore throats.

Tournament MVP:
Slaugox Gnarlsore - 2nd Tournament MVP for this beast. The always hard-hittin’ PB scored twice in both of The Couriers regular wins this season. First home-grown Star Player of the team.
Winter Year Seven - W/D/L - 0/0/1
Game 1: vs. Star Metal Sentinels, 0-1 loss

Recap:
Winter is howling and The Courtyard is freezing. The Couriers needed to limber up and get the ol’ gangrenous legs moving. Very conveniently a squad of stocky dwarfs found themselves in the same predicament and accepted The Couriers invitation to play. The match - which ended in a loss - wasn’t half bad... The PB’s performed well injuring two dwarfs and almost getting a TD. Goreblob just needed a bit more speed. The Sentinels super-runner had a good match catching the ball in a gooey scrum with divine ease. This ultimately led to the ironbreaker game-winning TD.

Tournament MVP:
Typhyidus Goreblob
...not really a tournament but ‘Gory’ reached Star status during this game after injuring a heavy-armored dwarf. A TD on top of that would have been awesome but with its improved ball handling skill the TD’s might come more regularly.
Spring Year Seven - W/D/L - 1/0/4 - 4th place
Game 1: vs. Song of Hatred, 1-0 win
Game 2: vs. Eternal Ecstasy, 0-2 loss
Game 3: vs. Axhakkum’s Furious Rage, 1-2 loss
Game 4: vs. PtrusxllG Paradox of Enigmas, 1-2 loss
Game 5: vs. Emperor's True Face, 0-2 loss

Recap:
Mighty blocking won this game. Malals creatures couldn't play their nimble hit and run game. The Couriers were suffocating them with foul odours and up-close gangrene armpits. Toadflesh finally got a good hit in when it took out the abomination called Soulchainer Torment - a sweet bit of revenge from last spring. Goreblob showed off his new skills with equilibristic pick-ups and even a thrown ball... that was caught!

2nd game vs. The Couriers’ 'friendly' slaaneshi foes from Eternal Ecstasy did not play out well. The nurgling Snat fouled like a maniac (because it is) and the injuries stacked up but they kept returning to the pitch. Not a scratch on them. Lashweaver clawed up three Couriers - among them Gnarlsore - and the Daemonettes played like dark angels. They could do nothing wrong and were truely perfect. Bitter loss for Spiderling. Now the rotten gloves have to come off for the remainder of the season.

Khornes finest wanted the next dance. Led by furious Axhakkum this match had it all... and Nuffle (and maybe Tzeentch) wanted to be involved. The heavens opened up and rain poured down. The Couriers colored the rain red with the blood of the cultists and Goreblob ran with the ball. But a Bloodletter caught up and took Gory down. In the onslaught the ball was left untouched and Gory recovered it and got a lucky TD. Then the khornates took over! Two PB’s were injured and two killed! (Luckily they reformed to play on). The Rage ran in a quick TD hunting a win. The decimated Couriers tried to prevent the defeat but in the end two cultists got it done despite tough odds. Painful loss and last game for Verrucugnus. It returned prematurely but triumphant to The Mansion and a ‘fresh’ Bearer was sent to replace Ol’ Toadie.

Tzeentch - that cheeky bastard! The Couriers are having a tough Spring season. Some say it STINKS! We agree but it doesn’t stink enough. Those pink and blue horrors must have used some kind of Wunderbaum spell.... they seemed almost immune to our smelly tactics. The blue ones darted everywhere and the Bird monster was hitting hard. Even diving in from above! The Pheculent threw Poid for a brilliant TD and Slaugox almost caught up with the devious blue horror which scored for 2-1. But the way he tripped seemed mysterious…

Then the carnival arrived. Unease spread around the squad because of The Fly Lord's fondness for this troupe. The Couriers got an OK start to the game bashing their way upfield moving the ball at a steady pace. But Goreblob tripped in the EZ!! TD denied.
In 2H the jester Verrucius took over - scoring quickly after denying Goreblobs blitz on the ball. The nurglings left the pitch in clusters and the jester unopposed ran in another TD. Only Slaugox played like a pro in this final match of the season.

Tournament MVP:
Slaugox Gnarlsore
- after a very below standard spring season only Slaugox performed above par. At first 3 anonymous games followed up by 3 games with some big hits - most notably crippling a pink horror. 3rd Tournament MVP. Reached superstar status in the game vs. the carnival.
Summer Year Seven - Grudgemaker Summer Showdown - W/D/L - 1/2/3 - 11th out of 12
Game 1: vs. Coven of the Mirrored Hall, 0-1 loss
Game 2: vs. Seekers of Transcendence, 0-2 loss
Game 3: vs. Dark Room Delights, 0-2 loss
Game 4: vs. Terminal Harmony, 1-1 draw
Game 5: vs. Black Hearted Bloodseekers, 1-1 draw
Game 6: vs. Gardeners of Nurgle, 1-0 win

Recap:
In celebration of the upcoming clash between The Realm teams and their mortal servants The Fly Lord invited his colleagues (including Nuffle himself) for a pungent feast and a greasy game of cards in his mansion. The Lord unfortunately has a tendency to cheat when playing cards and especially Nuffle took it real personally. This made things very complicated for The Couriers...

Game 1 vs. a big Tzeentchian team was a mess. The Pheculent was viciously fouled (and niggled) by a book with legs and ballhandling was nonexistent. Snat did kill a Tzaangor star but everything else was rubbish.

Next a amalgamation of chaotic spawns faced The Couriers. Down a Big Roadblock funds for a wizard gave them a good hand. But Nuffle was mad and some bad coaching decisions didn’t make the odds any better... The Seekers took their chances at the right moment and 2nd loss was a reality.

Then rookie Slaanesh. Having a bit of inside knowledge Doomspume felt confident that this would be the game! But claws... The PB’s flew off the field and it was grim. Goreblob really has some issues at the moment. 2-0 down finally an opportunity to score arose but Plaguhelm messed it up bad with another slobby block. It was abruptly shipped back to re-germinate in the garden.

Renegade god Malal provided the next fodder. The Fly Lord was fuming with anger and ordered The Couriers to not lose this one! TH had won over EE and The Couriers shouldn’t end like that. The game started out good but the blockage was inferior. The Harmony players slithered through to score while the PB’s acted like drunken dwarfs. 2H was a complete opposite - with the ball on the back line things looked bleak but Goreblob was cool and then the onslaught began. Gnarlsore injured Kaxam Skinflayer mortally and the Grease Train rumbled relentlessly upfield scoring a T16 TD. First point of the season was finally secured.

Khorne... eventhough they are the 'minion' team they still pack a punch. 'The Pheculent' - valiantly sat on the LOS - was removed immediately! The claws of the khornates were extremely efficient and their star-goat Kelriz scored with ease. 2nd half was better (except - nurglings handling a ball. Don't..). Despite being wrestled down because of a swift pitch invasion Goreblob got the ball under control. Gnarlsore paved the way and The Couriers were able to equalize. They also halted Kelriz' next run towards the EZ and fouled that abomination of the pitch. Ok game... Spiderling needs to get a win soon.

Then it was time for the big one! The Gardeners - finest nurgle minions around. Last summer The Couriers also faced them in the final game and won. This time around is was a wounded team. A hard tournament had deprived them of a few good players and it showed. The Couriers received and muscled their way up the wide-zone. The Gardeners tried different ways to steal the ball and it cost them. With two of their best players out early due to an Uconaabûlbox-block and a beautiful nurgling foul the rotter Pligis took charge blitzing through a wall of plaguebearers and picking up the ball. Gnarlsore made sure he ended on a high note when he outright killed him after his memorable moves.
0-0 going into 2nd half. The Gardeners put a pestigor on the ball trying to outrun The Couriers. But to no avail. The Grease Train proved to powerful and Goreblob finally gained control of the ball and scored with ease. A victory to end the summer!

Tournament MVP:
Snat
- well... Gnarlsore did sorta kill a starplayer (and a couple of other lesser players) but Snat had the touch! Or the kick. His beautiful Tzaangor foul-kill in game one was the highlight of The Couriers’ summer season. This officially made Snat the most awarded player in the squad.

Autumn Year Seven - Clay Division - W/D/L - 3/3/1
Game 1: vs. Mountains of Mourn Tyrants, 1-1 draw
Game 2: vs. Library of Indra, 1-1 draw
Game 3: vs. Lost Lycans of Lumbria, 2-2 draw
Game 4: vs. Terminal Harmony, 2-0 win
Game 5: vs. Dökkálfar Dreki, 1-2 loss
Game 6: vs. Stones Forgers, 1-0 win
Game 7: vs. Pride of Lybaras, win via forfeit.

Recap:

First off - Ogre Kingdom team The Tyrants. A mongrel and brutal horde. The Couriers however gain control of the precedings and deny their attempt at a TD. 2nd half The Grease Train oozes toward the Tyrants' EZ. But it is rushed a bit due to ogres tearing through The Couriers screen. Two turns lefts and a failed pick-up by a gnoblar makes it look like a win. But then... A missile-like gnoblar flies down the pitch and tumbles into the EZ. A bitter draw.

Library of Indra is next. Sweet memories of a big win last year fuels the Courier offense. Led by a bloodthirsty Gnarlsore (3 CAS in the game) Goreblob runs in a turn 6 TD. The monkeys try a desperate play to equalize before the half-time whistle but like a true pro Gnarlsore gets to interfere and intercepts the throw! 2nd half sees more frantic play by The Library but this time it works. A small chance to go two up is sqaundered by hired star Patient Zero and the monkeys gets to equalize instead.. bad call by the coach. A futile attempt to get a winning score is spoiled by the star yet again when his hands vaporize in a cloud of spores trying to catch an accurate pass by Goreblob. Tough luck and last time he's hired!

Lycans... Frenzied canines, nimble felines and grabbing’ bears! The Grease Train rumbled upfield according to plan but the claws of the wolves were efficient and Blackbane was shredded to bits. Goreblob rushed the TD a bit and the Lycans took advantage of this scoring an equalizer just before halftime. Then they had to score another quick TD because of The Couriers slowly strangling their progress. This allowed for another greasy grind and Goreblob managed to score unopposed in the last seconds of the game. 3rd tie of the season.

Game 4 - the servants of Malal showed up at the mansion for yet another dance. Last time it ended in a bloody draw with a dead star. This time around The Couriers violently displayed their epic punching power. The malalians flew off the pitch in droves and another star - Kaleb Doomstar - felt the might of a well placed plaguebearer uppercut. He’ll remember this game (or not). Two perfect last turn TD’s in both halves by Goreblob secured the win - Typhyidus’ 5th and 6th touchdown this season alone!

First loss of the season came when the seafaring dark elf top team showed up. 1st half was tight - Rankpulp did manage to sack the ballhandler but the elves recovered and scored with ease. Another quick TD early 2nd half secured them the win and Goreblob seventh TD didn’t matter much. Crucial moment of the game: a hapless elven block of desperation killing newly crowned Couriers’ star Maggonellus Rankpulp. Big blow!!

Game 6 saw The Couriers square off versus a bunch of mean norscan dwarves. An ugly match of smelly frenzied carnage. The nurglings flew off the pitch and Snat went splat for good. A tough half ended on a high when Goreblob managed a successful potato run. One up 2nd half looked bleak... Many angry punches awaited. Gnarlsore was also removed by now (and the next game). But Goreblob, Phossyjaw and new PB Protooze managed to ride off the norscan storm sealing the 2nd win of the season!

Last game had to be cancelled and The Couriers was awarded 3 points following the forfeit of Pride of Lybaras.

Tournament MVP:
Typhyidus Goreblob
- for another blazing season. Goreblob scored every TD this autumn - and 8 of them! That’s pretty impressive. In two games he even scored twice.
Spring Year Eight - W/D/L - 0/2/2 - 5th place
Game 1: vs. Axhakkum’s Furious Rage, 0-1 loss
Game 2: vs. Eternal Ecstasy, 0-2 loss
Game 3: vs. PtrusxllG Paradox of Enigmas, 2-2 draw
Game 4: vs. Cacophony, 1-1 draw

Recap:

Apparently the first game of the season was the scruffy looking snotlings that suddenly appeared a the gate of the mansion. Uconaabûlbox devoured them before they had a chance to state their business. A win was awarded to The Couriers but snotlings do not count as a viable opponent. They’re more a weak strain of virus...

Now the real game 1 was vs. Axhakkum and his furious bunch of red daemon lackeys. The Rage was pretty beaten up but Gnarlsore was also still regerminating from a blatant blow in Autumn. Goreblob had to try a control the precedings. Didn’t go well... The game could have gone either way but Goreblob failed two essential blocks. A blitz on the Rage-player who was about to score (which he proceeded to do!) and a blitz-block out of a scrum to equalize. Tough luck!

Then Lashweaver arrived with her/his decadent entourage. This would not be easy. This game Poxgut had to stay back at the mansion and was felt on the defensive line. Quickly it became apparent that Eternal Ecstasy would win this game and the hunt for Lashweaver began. Foul upon foul, a fireball and an aggressive Gnarlsore tried to punish the keeper of secrets but Uconaabûlbox (with the ball!) drew blood when Lash failed a blitz attack badly. The mighty Slaaneshi daemon looked dead a few short seconds but was able to respawn. A defeat but the EE coach drew a breath of relief after the final whistle.

Away vs. tzeentchy abominations next. An amalgamation of arms, hands, legs, heads and feathers. A couple of vicious Pink Horrors lurked in the plethora of limbs and they quickly blasted the Couriers’ cage multiple times with accurate flamers and proceeded to take a comfortable 2-0 lead. Only a feeble attempt to hurl a nurgling across the heap on limbs got the Couriers close to the EZ of the opposition.
2nd half and the game exploded... in so many ways. The flamers began fumbling the bombshells badly and Gnarlsore but on the game face. Two seriously injured horrors were shown to the infirmary. Goreblob got hold of the ball and ran in the 1-2 score. Then another flamer spontaneously combusted and Phossyjaw rushed ahead picking up the ball in the process. Surrounded by opposing players the stench overwhelmed them and Gnarlsore - assisted by Poxgut - managed to shove the veteran PB through the flailing wall. Phossyjaw dodged out and equalized. A new star has been spawned!

Last game. The new devils on the block - DoM team Cacophony - visited The Courtyard for the first time. Soulchainer, Nub Nub and Painweb tagging along. This would be Phossyjaws debut as super-agile and an exciting time for the dynamic of the team. 1H and the Malal team received. The drones fought well and screened the ball nicely. Phossyjaw entered the scrum to support Gnarlsore and that was a mistake... The Soul Tormenter pummeled through the PB! One guarder down things got hairy. But the DoM’s had trouble keeping the ballhandler safe and had to rush the score a bit. Lining up for a TTM attempt The Couriers eyed a small chance for 1-1. But Goreblob messed up on the LOS. 2nd half The Grease Train rumbled upfield relentlessly and Goreblob got the equalizer. Cacophony tried to get a winning TD but the PB’s began grinding them down... Goreblob caught up with the ball handling drone and redeemed the blunder on the LOS. Another tie... no wins this Spring - hmmm...

Tournament MVP:
Uconaabûlbox
- In a faulty season like this one not many things overshadows the near-killing of Lashweaver. Uconaabûlbox was pretty solid all in all. Really only zoned out a couple of times in the last game. Honourable mention: Phossyjaws equalizing TD vs. The Paradox.
Summer Year Eight - Waaagh Bowl Mork Divison: Greenskins vs. da Spiky Boyz - W/D/L - 1/2/2 - 5th place
Game 1: vs. Angry Hungry Hairy Chewers, 1-2 loss
Game 2: vs. Dreadpeak's Delusionals, 0-0 draw
Game 3: vs. Emporor’s True Face, win via forfeit
Game 4: vs. Endlings Wanderers, 0-1 loss
Game 5: vs. Flamemasters of Zhurr, 1-1 draw

Tournament MVP:

Recap:

1st game = utter confusion. A mean ogre team arrives as first opponent in the spring. Ogres? In the Realms!? The nurglings swarm around in erratic ways not seen before. Their discipline has evaporated like morning dew on fungi in the blazing sun. Big Yeest is not present mentally and the PB's are under pressure all game. The ogres are surprisingly patient while The Couriers implode and in 2h an agile snotling sneaks along the sideline for a game-winning TD. After the game Yeest is abolished back to an outer realm and instead more nurglings are drafted. Their poor reliability must be mitigated by sheer numbers next game! '...and where are the other Daemon teams?' - Coach Spiderling is so confused...

*** Did you know...

...that for the The Skeggi Colonial Cup of year 6 a special kit was developed to make the Couriers cope better in the jungle heat of Lustria. Unfortunately the gear didn't arrive in time for the first game and this must surely have been the reason for the 0-3 debacle in the opener vs. the scaly natives.

*** Did you know...

...that official sponsor of The Couriers - Plagueboy© Maggotzine - is run by former pestigor blitzer Spewtigor ‘Spugh’ Hoofner. With his donations ‘Spugh’ has become quite an influenzial member of the Fly Lords court. His broad knowledge concerning Blood Bowl - from his time with the fantastic team Black Goo - has been rumoured being a big part of Spiderlings team philosophy. The whole ‘Let’s create some cavities in the opponents and jam ‘em full of phlegm’ was certainly always a Hoofner trademark while with the Goo squad.

*** Did you know...

...that following a disastrous 8th year in CIBBL the Grandfather began infusing the team with new exotic abilities. The PB's developed huge (and surprising agile) gaping maws in their bellies eagerly snatching out for the ball. Even more disturbing - the nurglings now multiply uncontrollably... especially just prior the kick-off !
