Not much is knonm about the origins of the Blood Mountain Slaughterers. Elders say that they are the last remnants of a large northern warband, returning from a Pilgrimage to the Chaos Wastes where they were hoping to submit themselves to the judgement of the gods. Only a few men survived, but these were changed forever - some were transformed into mighty warriors of hulking size and strength; some were gifted with mutations from Khorne himself, transforming into half men, half beasts of sheer rage and fury. These few were welcomed back into their people as heroes. Feeling blessed by the gods, this warband was lead by a particularly brutal Warrior named Kroasgyt the Wicked, to fight and raid in the southern lands of Kislev, seeking glory in the nations of the Old World.

Alas, while the Wastes of Chaos are an echo of the immortal domain of spirit in the grey land of mortality, they invariably wax and wane with the emotions and whims of mortals. And while Kroasgyt and hs warband preyed and pillaged upon the people of Kislev filling their thirst for blood in the fury of battle, they also realized that several of the villages and towns that they ravaged weren't properly defended because their best warriors were all playing a crude game involving a ball and intense violence called Blood Bowl, which rewarded the most brutal teams with gold, adoration and fame beyond no other in those lands. So intense was the allure offered up by this game to the mighty Chaos Warriors, as they saw the potential for hurting opponents like a fury of battle unleashed in the Blood Bowl pitch, that they decided themselves to dedicate their efforts into bashing opponents on the other side of the pitch. As for the ball... Well, who really cares about it?
