Team bio The largest and wealthiest city in the Old World, Marienburg, is an independent directorate ruled by Burgomeisters and powerful mercantile guilds. The independent status has many advantages for the rich merchant guilds. However, when the World Federation of HammerBowl was founded an imminent disadvantage became clear as well: As the independent directorate was not part of any empire, it was almost left without anyone to play Blood Bowl with. Coach Medon made a successful case to erect a Blood Bowl team in Marienburg. The most important merchant guilds, or 'houses' as they are called in Marienburg, financed the team in a typical Marienburg fashion: Each house investing in the team received an even share in the assets and profits. The ten investing houses came together in the Stadsraad meeting and decided it would be most profitable to take part in the IMHABOC league, as the crowd gate and merchandise sales would be higher when playing in densely populated Empire cities and provinces. Strong lobby and sizeable bribes made it happen: The "Marienburg Guilders" became part of League A of IMHABOC. There is a downside to this modern financing through shareholders though. The greedy shareholders do expect to earn back their investments within several years. To this end, each year a share of the net profit will be handed out as dividend to the shareholders. Definitions: - Turnover = Winnings from matches and tourneys. - Profit = Winnings minus expenses. Expenses include players and rerolls bought during the season, and redrafting expenses at the end of the season. This is shown in gold pieces and as a percentage of the turnover. - Dividend = Money handed out to shareholders. This is simulated through ‘Expensive Mistakes’ rolls during the season. |
