Hoping to find tombs to plunder, a band of thieves was led deep into the harsh sands of Khemri by their leader, Abu Hassan. Following the stories of an old man from the city of Al Kassat, they journeyed through the uncharted wastes, battling thirst and the sand itself as they went. After a savage sandstorm that claimed the lives of several comrades, the remaining bandits saw revealed a massive stone structure, low and squat with a single entry, an open doorway beyond with lay utter darkness. A darkness into which they ventured. Devils emerged where men had entered. Living a cruel mockery of true life, twisted by their exposure to the black magics within the lands of the dead. In death their loyalty to Abu Hassan remains, and they yearn only to carry out his will. And the will of Abu Hassan is blood. |
