Mark O’Holymint diary entry, sometime around the year 2550

“My memory fades as I lie here in this dusty Genovan prison. I must hurry before I lose all my senses and go on my last exploration into the unknown.

I first met the Hung in the summer of 2520, it was just a scout on the hill line, who tracked our party for 2 days. Eventually we spotted more and more, until they eventually came rushing down in the dead of night and slaughtered everyone except 3 of us. At the time I wasn’t sure why I was spared, and frankly I didn’t care, but after traveling with them for a while I realised what they wanted me for. I had been wearing my “Genovan Gob Gougers” Blood Bowl jersey (GGG forever!), and the Hung had wanted me specifically to train them in the noble sport. I was far from an expert, more of an armchair supporter, but if me helping them kept me alive, why I was going to be the best Blood Bowl coach you could imagine. The other two survivors were dragged off screaming into a summoning circle, surrounded by some of the clan elders. I won’t go into detail about what happened that night, but I saw things happen to those two men, which will haunt me forever. The next day the two men were still ‘alive’, but only in the sense that they stood upright and screamed incessantly. There was nothing behind their eyes, and they did not recognise me, and had I not worn my GGG jersey, I am sure they would have wrestled me to the ground and eaten me alive.

The hung were a funny little group, all gristle and spit, with no sense of personal hygiene. A few of them had strange mutations which helped them overcome their size and speed deficiency, whereas some of the larger ones foamed at the mouth during practice games. I eventually worked out that they were part of the Dreaded Wo clan, who had grown bored of the peace that wad forced upon them by Coobla Khaine rulers. They demanded more bloodshed, and off we went. They had a nasty habit of slashing people’s faces, including their own, so when it came for me to register a name with the CIBBL league admin (now there was a nasty brutish lot to deal with, but that is another story), I had to come up with a name, so it seemed to make sense to call them the Dreaded Wo Face Slashers…”
