Early Years: New Recruits, New Name, New Hope
For seven years after their founding, the Boars' earned their living with small contracts like escorting poor caravans, guarding
half-empty warehouses and hunting down mutated vermin. Their numbers grew slowly: Few dwarves were eager to earn a living as roaming sell-swords during those days and next to no one wanted to stay,
even after they got to know
the somewhat eccentric, oppressive nature of
our charismatic leader Dimrond Ironfist.
One day, someone suggested to change the
second part of the band name, as negative associations with its
animal mascot might drive possible applicants off. Dimrond agreed and since then we are known as "Ironfist's Nomads", for nomads we truly had become.
Surprisingly it worked, and after three more years, the Nomads were a squad of twelve well attuned fighters. By that time, we signed a profit-yielding contract, that led to hunting down Skaven in the Grey Mountains, Marienburg and Altdorf for two years - tedious, sickening work, that made us proficient in that area.
