Marienburg Foxes-
P [L] Marienburg Foxes
Merely half a season after their promotion to the highest echelon of Old World Blood Bowl, the Kutenholz Foxes were in trouble. Due to the struggles of the nearby Altdorf Thunderbolts, the Town Council of Kutenholz, Middenland saw the opportunity to draw fans away to a new team. The trouble was, they weren't the only ones to think the same thing. The Carroburg Crimson Cascade also set up shop just north of the capital, in a larger town than Kutenholz. Meanwhile, many fans looking to follow a nearby team chose to root for the Middenheim Marauders or Kemperbad Knights. The Foxes weren't playing badly, but attendance at the Kutenholz Parade Grounds was among the league's lowest.

It looked as though the team might have to fold unless a buyer was found. Enter Geert van Herder, president of the Guilderveld Trading League and one of Marienburg's wealthiest citizens. The great trade city had been looking for a Blood Bowl team ever since the Bruisers packed up and left for Barboza. The Broekwater Patriots had an ardent fan base in Marienburg, but their stadium in a fishing village fifty miles north of the city was quite a trek for city-dwellers. Unlike the Patriots, van Herder promised that the Foxes would play in the heart of Marienburg Harbor -- and unlike the Bruisers, who chronically suffered from a rundown home field and subpar equipment, the League would spare no expense in outfitting the Foxes and giving them a home. For Kutenholz, it was an easy decision: they chose to sell, receiving millions of gold pieces in return.

So here we are: Merchant Navy Field, built in Marienburg's famous harbor by the finest Dwarven engineers, upon land magically reclaimed from the sea itself. With a capacity of almost fifty thousand, it's arguably the most luxurious Blood Bowl stadium ever built. The question is: will the team the Foxes put on the field justify the great expense van Herder has committed to the move? And if not, what will happen next?
