Fort Solace Griffins

With the success of the DLE, a handful of Barons in the eastern Borderlands partnered up to open a new franchise. After much bickering and a few scuffles the Princedom of Akendorf was decided to be the franchise's base in the Borderlands.

Head Coach "Greasy" Neale, a grizzled veteran of the game with a no nonsense approach and a keen eye for talent, was enlisted to whip the Griffins into fighting shape. This is how we remember him since after the third game of season 3, he went missing. Rumors about him getting fired, LITERALLY, are spreading around the DLE, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Thaddeus "Spike" Thompson, the head coach hired to replace Neale, didn't talk about his colleague and keep on suggesting to stop thinking about him. Neale was 9/4/3 as Head coach of the Griffins. Thompson was 1/1/5. There is no official statement about the change at head coach but Thompson has disappeared with rumors of possibly being taken out by disgruntled fans.

After the mysterious disappearance of the two head coaches, and complaints filed by their families, the Barons decided to sell the team amongst controversy and scandal that the team may somehow be involved in these disappearances. A wealthy individual by the name of Foxx Cowhead stepped forth to purchase the Griffins for an undisclosed amount of gold and other things. He then proceeded to hire a virtual unknown from the Broekwater front office to be GM and head coach. He also has moved the team from the Borderlands to a brand new stadium in the Wasteland. Coach Gruug was a GM Trainee for the Patriots for a short time and will be charged with the task of leading the newly located Griffins to prosperity.

It is believed that the Patriots and their fans already disliked the Griffins for their murder of Broekwater's first ever draft selection, Jake Matthews. Now this new owner has stolen away someone from their team to coach the hated rival AND has moved the team into the Wasteland as well! The rivalry is intensified.

It appears that Mr. Cowhead has as little patience as he does lots of hatred for the Patriots. After just a few games and a terrible 4-0 loss to the Patriots, Coach Gruug was given a severance package and shown the door. He is replaced by former Remas Eagles Head Coach Arcayn. How can Arcayn fare here in the West? Only time will tell.

'Greasy' Neale's words of wisdom

"You see, in this world there's two kinds of players, my friend: those with piling on, and those who die."

"When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall ogre grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head down against the astrogranite, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if you've paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Greasy Neale always says at a time like that: "Have you paid your dues, Al?" "Yessir, the check is in the mail."

"Remember...there is always a little halfling in the stands that wants to be just like you, don't disappoint him."
Trades&Rights

After taking over the team in Week 13 of season 3 Coach Arcayn put on his GM hat and went to work.
First he decided to try to acquire some 1st Round Picks in the upcoming draft to bring in an influx of Top Caliber Young Players.

TRADE #173: "Arcayn gives: 2nd (Croixfer) + 3rd (horekim) + 3rd (CaptainRhino) +comp4th (own)

After acquiring 2 extra first Round Picks Coach Arcayn changes his mind and strategy and decides that he needs to build the teams core around Quality Veteran Players both on Offense and Defense. He starts by going after a defensive Blitzer.

Arcayn gives: 3rd (Asteflix) future 4th

The Arcayn Reign

Under the new ownership of Mr Foxx Cowhead, the front office seemed to have a short leash on the coach. The previous coach started out with a 0/2/2 record and was promptly let go in favor of the former Remas Eagles head coach. Arcayn has come to Fort Solace after a hiatus in which it is rumored that he traveled something called the "TT" circuit and improved his coaching ability. With this newfound skill, Arcayn finished Season 3 very strong. Griffins' brass have high hopes for season 4.

Season 3:
Week 13 vs. Irrana Avalanche (1210 TV): We had 890 TV going into this one. The game was decided on a prayer of a play with no Team rerolls on turn 16. On turn 15, newcomer Wilton Chamberlain, who had 2 Casualties in this debut, blitzed the ball carrier to knock the ball free but still in his tacklezone and along the sideline. On the next play, Avalanche catcher Dan Herron failed the pick-up and booted the ball out of play. The crowd then proceeded to throw the ball back into play between Irrana lineman Fletcher Cox and 'Fins thrower 'double G' Garrett Gilbert. Gilbert then calls out his own nickname "GG" (which we believe may have a secondary meaning) as he goes for the pickup within Cox's reach. After successfully picking up the ball(4+), he dodged away(3+), pushed how far he could normally go by one step(2+), And then throws a short pass(4+) after double clutching the ball(rolled a 1 but used pass to RR and succeed) to a double covered Coty Sensabaugh. The 'Fins catcher successfully caught the pass (5+), dodged away from the 2 defenders(3+) and strolled into the endzone as the final whistle sounded, winning 2-1.

Week 14 vs Middenheim Classics (1010 TV): For this game our TV dropped to 860 due to losing Young Blitzer Tobias James to a niggling injury retirement, And Thompson missing the game due to injury. Chamberlain was the star of this one. Not only did he claim 2 more casualties in this game, but his second kill in as many games. But it was his all-around play that sealed the deal for the Griffins in the first half of this match. Leading 1-0 it looked like the Classics might tie it up before the half, with their BC hiding behind a loose screen. Wilton dodged through screen blitzing the ball carrier, knocking him out of the game and catching the ball off of the bounce. The next play he dodged away from defenders and handed the ball off to teammate Sensabaugh, who ran down field and scored 2 plays later to take the 2-0 halftime lead in a game they'd go on to win 3-1.

Week 15 vs Altdorf Thunderbolts (1030 TV):
