Sartosa Black Flags
[L] Pirates of Sartosa (CIBBL)
Sartosa Black Flags
Avast ye landlubbers! Anchored only a few hundred yards from the pirate port of Sartosa, the galley Golden Dirk plays host to a motley crew culled from all across the Great Ocean. From tough quartermasters that served under Long Drong on the Far Fregar, to dastardly privateers from the collosal Black Arks of Naggorath, the Pirate Lords have spared no expense, and placed the good ship under the control of Captain Calico Jack and his two hulking ogre boatswains.
When the skull-and-crossbones flies high from the rigging, the Black Flags come out to scuttle your ship and feed you to the fish. Yo Ho Ho!
The Little Cup
Game 1:The good ship Sartosa took one hell of a beating, as poor captaincy led them aground against those dastardly Lahmian vampires. Luckily, a couple of consolation scores made the whole thing slightly more respectable. The coalition of chaos sails on!
Game 2:The luck was with the Pirates in the first half, as they scuttled off to an early lead. Pegged back early in the second half, a blitz near the end gave the Kurnous a turn 16 victory. Those scurvy treelubbers!
Game 3: Ho ho ho! Yes, praise Nuffle for imbuing the armor of the the Black Flags with a charmed life. Moreover, praise the Slayer for somehow managing to remove the ball from the Keeper of Secrets prior to a last turn leveller.
Game 4:Another early lead for the Black Flags, but once Calico Jack got cleaned out, the pirates were left hanging on. Luckily, Mahrak's inability to pick up the ball and some unlikely dwarven dodges and desperate corsair dives into the ruck meant that the skeleton crew held on for the draw.
Game 1:A horrendous error by the Black Flags early doors set the tone for this one, prior to being systematically crushed by a frankly aggressive daemonic side. Butcher Godfrey broke his neck, Morag picked up an injury that will trouble her over the season, and Rats Buford had the good sense to die and avoid further embarrassment.
Game 2:Lady luck shined upon the Black Flags, as the Dryads snapped like twigs in the face of Calico Jack and the lads, a pirate actually scored a TD and there was some excellent corsair scuttling. Yo ho ho!
Ibhib Nightbringer won the Growth Potential awawd as one of the best players in The Little Cup summer tournament. Ibhib scuttled his way to this award by getting as much distance between himself and the opposition (and indeed his own teammates) as he could. Four times, that place was the end-zone.
