While they would never demean themselves by actually playing Bloodbowl, the game itself appeals to their sense of cruelty - much as a cat enjoys toying with a mouse. There is of course great rivalry among the Elder Dragons which manifests itself in many ways. One of the more trivial, is their sponsorship of this team which it amuses them to keep as a contest among themselves. This team is about the rivalry between Dragons, not the skills of the players or the record of the team. They are aligned to a patron dragon & bear his name. They score points for their patron which are tallied in the Dragon Scale. The points are equal to their spp's - excluding MVPs. Most valuable player awards are decided by the fans and Dragaons would never accept a decision of lesser beings influencing their affairs. Players are purchased by each Dragon in turn, buying whatever player type is best suited to the needs of the team at the time. Skill choices are made for players by their patrons. Players that are raised from the dead are not aligned to any patron and are treated as outcasts.
