Thratmel Brightstone was the tallest dwarf of the town. Standing almost 5 feet tall he was the natural scout, looking high over all obstacles, scouting for trouble. Hasorlug is a proud descendant of the Hammersmiths of yore. He claims to have a direct lineage to the runesmith that created the Silver Runehammer of our village. Or so he says. The people in the village that believe his story are actually a very small minority, consisting only of Hasorlug himself, and his cat. A more convincing stroy on Hasorlug's lineage is that his ancestors used to be nicknamed 'Hammerstruck', as they are not the brightiest of dwarves, and continuously seemed to forget what they were actually doing. Hasorlug is no exception to that rule. He was not fit for any other job. So he mostly served as henchman, carrying out dirty and violent jobs for his superiors, that did not require any thinking. Now he has turned into undead and is forced to play bloodbowl. You won't see him take any initiative on the bloodbowl pitch. He just stands around, brainless, waiting for some instruction to be given by the team captain. The instructions usually do not go beyond a subtle 'Hit him in the face!'.

Elstok was the personal guard of a trading merchant and market salesman. Using his spear as walking stick and his war goat as pack mule he walked long miles over open terrain between the various settlements, sometimes even trading with humans out in the open plains. He used to be famous for his strong voice, shouting louder than everything else to promote the wares of his employer. On the pitch he uses his strong voice to shout directions to his team mates, and sometimes also to his opponents.

The lightning that sparked from the rune hammer transfered powerful rune magic into the rock formation. The stone golem opened its eyes for the first time. It was alive! However, the lightning did not only transfer rune magic... it also transfered heat. Lots of heat, in fact. The stone golem felt an agonizing pain as parts of its silicate minerals started melting and even evaporating. As its body was being pulverized, its field of view grew dim, and it pondered about the meaning of life for the first and for the last time, it could just see one of his own broken off hands escaping the scene and sneaking off into the dwarf village! The dwarves happily welcomed the hand into their group. The dwarves named the hand 'Max', after their deceased dog. (By coincidence, that dog was only killed a few seconds earlier by a piece of rock catapulted from a pulverizing lightning strike.)

Mollie is an exceptionally talented hand. She was eager to learn from the moment life was breathed into her. She managed to develop a tactile writing system, based on letters that were carved into a rock and could be read by feeling rather than looking. She absorbed all (little) knowledge the village dwarves had. After there was nothing more to be absorbed she visited several libraries to widen her knowledge further. As of today, Mollie is without any doubt the most intelligent, wise and insightful being on the pitch. It is a bit frustrating, however, that nobody seems to understand her finger signaling, and that there is not enough time to transcribe and read her half-time tactical instructions.

Dhorfatir Hardbranch was a simple craftsman in our town. He repaired all broken equipment, used by our goat herders, cheese churners, stone crafters and masons. He never was the smartest, fastest or most agile dwarf. But he did have the stamina and dedication to make long overnight work days and get everything fixed before the next dawn. On the pitch he is indefatigable, not ashamed to do the dirty jobs like taking hits, standing in harm's way, placing some blocks and the occasional foul.

It is generally known, but never spoken about, that Mongread’s real surname is Undertaker. He comes from a long tradition of undertakers, guarding the great burial grounds of the village. Mongread was not pleased at all when the dwarf village turned undead. He was suddenly completely out of business!! And to lose your business is to lose your pride! He decided the best he could do was change his name and his profession. He’s now a professional player in our team. Sometimes his old undertaker skills get in handy, but mainly to bury the opponents team members that die on the pitch.
