How To Create A League Or Tournament

This help section will show you how to set up your own League or Tournament on Fumbbl. You can set up a private league for you and a few close friends or a huge league or cup competition open to anyone in the world. The instruction below will help show you how to achieve this.

First of all click Create Group on your homepage to create your own League or Tournament.

Once you have done this you will be presented with the Edit Group page shown below.

  • Name - Enter the name of your group.
  • Show Title - Tick this so the name of your group is displayed at the top of your group page.
  • Logo URL - Enter the URL of an image you would like to display at the top of your group home page (960x109 pixels at best).
  • Group type - You can choose Meta Group or League here. If you choose League, you can add a custom ruleset: teams created from this group will use this custom ruleset. Teams cannot play each other if they were created from different rulesets.
  • Ruleset Id - Type your ruleset id here; you can find it by selecting your ruleset. Custom rulesets enable you to use secret rosters, non progressive teams, or many other settings.
  • Visibility - You can choose Private or Public here. Private means only teams that the league administrator invites may play in this group. Public means this group will be displayed on the main group page and will be open for anyone to join at the discretion of the league administrators.
  • Status - You can select Recruiting or Not Recruiting here.
  • Score - Tick this to display your teams score on your group members page. The score can be used to make decisions about which divisions a team may play in and for seeding teams in cup competitions etc.
  • Enable Grid - Enter the amount of league divisions you want here and they will be displayed on your tournament page.
  • Grid Season - Enter the season number in here and it will only display the grid for that season.
  • Ad - This is the small description next to the group name that is displayed on the group page.
  • Information - This is where you can type information about the league or tournament you are running and the rules that your group will be using. You can also click the HTML Mode button for further customisation options but this is only for use if you are familiar with HTML.

Next you need to decide on the format of your competition.

To do this click the Tournaments tab along the top of your group page. Then click Edit Tournament. As you can see from the image above the group logo is also being displayed at the top of the group page.

Once you have done this you will be presented with this screen below where you can customise the rules of your league or tournament.

  • Name - Enter the name of the tournament.
  • Season - Enter the season number here.
  • Style - This is where you choose the format of your competition. For full descriptions of what these mean click here.
  • Progression - Select Standard if you want standard skill progression or select none if you want no skill progression.
  • Turn Limit - You can increase or decrease the standard turn time here.
  • Turn Extension - You can increase the amount of time given at the end of the normal Turn Limit before the turn automatically times out.
  • Rule settings & Skill options - If you need different settings from your ruleset, tick Use custom settings for this tournament. and select your specific settings.
