I think a system like this is actually a good idea (and I know I will be in the minority).

Am I really opinionated?! Moi?
The main problem with this is the lack of site traffic these days. It's hard enough to get a game at some hours without adding extra issues. If you then factor in low scores for daring to win, hot headed ratings.... It's tricky and probably not possible.
I think we all sometimes forget that first and foremost, this is a silly game of dice. I've had some really stinking games of late, and a waa has seeped out of my keyboard. I've since had a stiff word with myself and I'm going to have a little break at the bottom of a beer crate; but who knows. A ranking may have put me off in the first place. Afterall; having fun is the point. |

[sarcasm]Please implement this so I can rate everybody I face in the Blackbox a negative and skew their ability to get games in Ranked[/sarcasm]

I'd like to see more match reports made. If you have a bad game against someone and they are unfriendly, just say so in the match report.
That way, when the next guy has a bad experience, he can just check the opposing coaches MATCHES, look at some match reports, and see that you did in fact play an unfriendly guy, and it wasn't just you, or a bad day, etc. |

Which turns into name&shame, which requires admins to deal with it... no thanks. |

So you're saying it's against fumbbl rules to have fun? |

Nono, what's against the rules is anything that looks like this:
werks wrote: | Woodstock is such a lame coach. He always takes more than 3 turns per turn. |
or
werks wrote: | Kam is such a picker. He always offers my goblins games against his chaos dwarves. |
or
werks wrote: | Lizvis is a really nice chap. He really helped me learn the ropes on this site, and was very patient about things. |
Actually, that last one probably would be allowed. |

I always thought the naming and shaming rules was about straight-up bashing. That's why you can put text in whitelist entries and not blacklist entries.
I've never had anybody complain that I said something less-than-complimentary in a balanced summary of the game, but I really don't want to run afoul of the line. Do these work? If not, how can we provide analysis?
"Then on Turn 10, my opponent attempted to redirect his cage without sufficient support."
"I made at least two stupid mistakes, but Joe just didn't see them and failed to capitalize."
"This game went on quite awhile: lots of blocks with nobody hurt, and in the second half, my opponent started to get frustrated at the slow, grinding pace."
What about factual statements?
"Last time I played him, I won 3-0, because I could get daylight between his line and his backfield. Got a Kicker? Kick deep, you'll be fine." |
