Dodge away and keep one space from your opponent, perhaps?

Dodge out and prevent forward movement. (If possible seperate the opposing team). Aim for the ballcarrier and do a quick counter-attack if you get the ball.

Basically elven defence = guerilla warfare...

Or like the SAS... in, hurt them, and out before they can do anything in reply...

Take risks to snatch the ball. Don't leave players in TZs unless you need to to get a good chance at attacking the ball. Keep retreating and holding a line until you get that shot at the ball.

Tackle, Diving Tackle and Side Step. Force your opponent to roll as much dice as possible.
Get 2-4 players with sidestep and diving tackle. And a couple fast blitzers with either tackle or strip ball.

get a couple of players with leap and strip ball, jump into cages then pick up the spilt ball and run like a schoolkids bum after a vindaloo.

Doesnt this just give them more chance to beat on you like an unwanted step-child ?

Well, yes.
Take it like a man. Sooner or later he will fail and then you have a chance to get the ball and that´s all that matters in the end.

Curious reduction on how to defend with elves IMO. At least I don't play like that. Sometimes but not always. Exemple: vs dwarves, I kick deep, run quick at them and man mark the guys that could help them out. ok I ll take blows but it's worth the risk.
