Take away physical access and it's not a problem. Most teams can already field a team full of DP linemen, yet they don't. Or just say they have regular access to all skills. (So traits & mutations still need doubles, but they have access to all of them)
And if somebody wants to take all MB/DP/PO players then who cares? They're AV 7 and won't be nearly as bashy as some of the current teams regardless of the skills you give them.
EDIT: And of course, being all AV7, they'll likely not last long enough to get many skills anyway. They can't even dodge away. |

Well with physical access, you still need a double to get a trait, which is what all physical abilities are. So no, it wouldn't be easy to get all claw/rsc. |

besides, if you only wanted to take bashy skills, chaos is a far better bet ... all have access to G,A,PS, better stats, and you don't have to worry about accidently choosing one of those crappy agility skills |

how about instead of being able to choose a skill,
the skill choice would be completely random and you'd be stuck with it.
the skill choice would be made from a random number generator like the current dice roll, 1-block, 2-dodge, claw-8, very long legs-9, strength +1 (-23), etc. etc.
and no positionals but maybe after a number of skill rolls they could start to choose which type of random skill or trait to take either general or agility etc.
fluff could be that as monks of chaos or somesuch, their prayers are answered when they prove themselves worthy on the bloodbowl pitch and after sufficient experience they can become disciples....
i'll let those more experienced to design the roster
or spit in my eye if this is stupid.... |
