Bit of a mirror match for 'do pro elfs suck' so this is unlikely to answer the topic question. The real question of this third match is which set of pointy eard nancys will prevail?

Yet again Mully proved pretty useless as he was fond of punching himself in the face to the amusement of the away fans
A re-rolled triple skull nearly costing the game along with numerous other both down results. I've never known the fans to boo so much. Inquisitorpustus (now the captain of the team) had an evil glint in his eye as he invisaged crushing the useless linemans head.

Wombats finally woke up in this game managing to badly hurt Oslander by utilising his new block skill to devestating effect.

The tag team of inquisitorpustus and brownrob_ni proved unstoppable as inq gave up the glory (for the time being) to allow the first touchdown.

A special mention goes to celas formerly one of the quieter members of the team who managed to knock the ball carryer down deep into the opposing half and leaving himself in a position to score. If we can get him do do things like that without the re-roll he might go far yet.

Topper casually walked the ball in to secure the third taunting the opposing fans as he ensured the victory.

This preceeded a riot which bought the game to a swift end.

Inquisitorpustus just wouldn't leave the pitch quietly (of course) KILLING Gunggari the elf blitzer. The chepskate elves couldnt even afford the apothecary to save him.

3-0 and the team have yet to conceed a touchdown. A fact obviously appreciated by the fans as the fan factor increases in perperation for the next sell out game. Can it continue?

Skill picks - Topper gets guard (to prevent against further crowd troubles?)
- BadMrMojo manages to clinch the mvp to get +MA (should have been inquisitorpustus clearly but on the bright side 'ol Mojo's now got the same stats and skills as a rookie woody thrower - oh happy day)

I'm still looking for a tougher match really but since the team is destined to move up the faction divisions the tougher matches will start. Well see how this record gets when the real bashing begins.

Check out my pro elf team: http://fumbbl.com/teams/Melting+Like+Lemondrops.html. Some here have said that new tactics is what is needed to play pro elves. I agree. Dodge (or block) is actually not the first skill I take with my catchers. Its leap. After that comes dodge and block (if I have a couple with the one I do the other first). Skills come very quickly to these catchers that suddenly become wardancers. I currently have 4 powerful "wardancers" on my team. Does it work? My record so far is 20/8/3 against predominantly equal strength and higher opponents.

Sounds impressive but all i'm getting is : A goblin seems to have gotten his grotty little hands on the page you have requested.

It is likely to never be seen again.

And you probably wouldn't want it back anyway.

Bet its preedy though Wink

Heres the link you want http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=107431

They look fairly nice apart from the fact you only have 11 players at such a high Tr and theyre fairly bashed up. Will all high level elf teams end up like this? Let us know folks.

Ah well on the plus side Sheraton will be about as usefull as mully next game. Even though he's missing it Laughing

Play against a good pro elf team with at least 1 dump off on a catcher....
not fun at all to play against, and little to do about it. Yea pro elf suck Smile

the biggest plus on pro elf in my opinion is that they have the potential to be great interceptors. with the Nos/catch combo you can place him against the ball-carrier or suspected reciever and if he has agility 3, the intercept is only 1 higher then his catch/pass roll (presuming it's a quick pass) AND your intercept roll (which you can reroll thanks to catch) is before his catch roll. with an added agility on 1 or maybe 2 catchers (if you're lucky) and pass block on all 4 catchers, it's almost impossible to set up a passing play against pro elf. Develop the blitzers with stripball/tackles and dauntless on doubles (for those pesky st4 and higher ball-carriers) and try to get a few guards on the lino's and you can stop both running and passing play's. Add dump-off to the catchers on doubles and both their offence and defence is almost water-thight (barring snake-eyes and such). Leap is indeed a great skill to give the catchers too, especially combined with the pass block around the board... which leaves the only drawback being AV7 but that never stopped woodies or skaven to rule the pitch. the only thing which makes woodies superior to pro elf in my opinion is the treeman (and lack of strength-player on the pro elf) and the better starting positionals (wardancers and woodie catchers rock) but in potential the pro-elf might be superior to woodies.

I can never be replaced!
By my count, I knocked down 2 mummies, a skeleton, a Blitz-ra, crowd pushed another Blitz-ra, knocked down a ball carrying Throw-ra, and scored a TD....before meeting the sharp end of a Bitz-Ra's block. Where were my assists Mezir? Don't just leave me hanging out there like that! I was a star!
hehe! A short but glorious career Laughing

I agree on the wardancers (although some av8 is nice on the team to make up for the lack of said treeman) but I'd take Pro Elf Catchers over Wood Elf Catchers any day. 1 ma and dodge vs 1 st and NoS for 10k? Sign me up.

As much as I like WE catchers (which is quite a bit - they do kick much ass), I'd even take Lion Warriors, given a choice. An 8347 stat line is awesome (see the aforementioned wardancer comments). 4 of them gives you some coverage with them to make up for the av7 and inevitable losses as well.

ps. I forgot to mention that with cheap linos and awesome positionals, Pro Elves conveniently have lots of possiblities for Fourball. Smile

Yes, for fourball I've had a lot of success with http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=96642 . Of course, rolling two +STR after one game really helped, but of course, the inevitable niggles... oh the niggles...

I have to disagree.
Wardancers are significantly better than Pro Elf Blitzers (+MA and 1 additional skill, plus they start with Blodge which dominates at low TRs), but the hidden asset of the woodies is their linemen. MA 7 on all your linemen (and thrower) is SO MUCH BETTER than MA 6 that it's ridiculous( both in establishing and maintaining good position and for "skilling up" easily and quickly). The catcher edge MIGHT go to the Pro Elves, but not by a long margin. MA 9 is devastating movement when you can use it as a support role for the most powerful blitzers in the game, and they score almost as easily as Pro elves...perhaps more easily if your opponent's defense is the least bit questionable. A good kick placement can cause Pro's to make more difficult rolls and Pro's are much more dependent on a quality thrower...Accurate /Strong Arm /Safe Throw before they can really have that blazing offense. That's a lot of skills that don't really help much on defense, which is of course the key to winning games. Quite frankly, the relative ease of getting the dump-off game going is probably their greatest (and most interesting) asset. Leaping on a 3 or better with the ball is not quite reliable enough for me, though it is helpful that you have quick access to rerolls. I'd say at lower ratings (below 175) they are a somewhat close match to wood elves (mainly due to more rerolls), but that difference widens as the TR rises. The Tree is a marginal addition to the Woodies, though of some use against most bash teams.
Just MHO, of course Smile

Sadly our intreped reporter missed the fourth game for 'do pro elves suck' against Elfbusters so sadly this is a second hand report, relayed to me by a grotty little goblin peering from the stands.

Bit of a walkover by all accounts 3-1 (the first touchdown conceeded by the elves) and a shockingly bad casualty score for the orcs despite the team's anthem:

If there's somethin' pointy in your neighborhood
Who ya gonna call (elfbusters)
If it's somethin' weird an it won't look good
Who ya gonna call (elfbusters)

I ain't afraid a no elfs
I ain't afraid a no elfs
If you're seein' things runnin' thru your head
Who can you call (elfbusters)
An' pansy man sleepin' in your bed
Oh who ya gonna call (elfbusters)
I ain't afraid a no elf
I ain't afraid a no elf
Who ya gonna call (elfbusters)
If you're all alone pick up the phone
An call (elftbusters)

Then again at low Ts I'd put my money on the elves every time. Hopefully we'll see a real test soon...

with my RL team, ive had quite a bit of success playing them as a 'surprise play' team. i think they have great potential as a team that you think youre safe against, but they go and spoil it and score anyway.

any +st result is a GEM, the enemy wont expect you to hit them (you cant do that with elves?) and skills like jump up, leap, dump off, pass block, and diving tackle(i have two of these guys) all provide a little trick up your sleeve.

my team is totally geared towards specialising, with a pass blocking catcher with ag5, and 2 ag5 linemen who are soon to become cagebreakers(leap, strip ball, guard) are just examples. i use my blitzers as all-rounders, but would make sweet defenders given DT and tackle

I enjoyed playing with my elves, but I do see that you have to get past the first bunch of games as unscathed as possible so that you have a chance to develop some players... after that I think they stand up pretty well with the other elf teams... I was very lucky to get +Str on my thrower... protects far more than +1av... but catchers are the key players... the linemen are simply expensive fodder...
My team... now in the land of unranked tournaments: http://fumbbl.com/FUMBBL.php?page=team&op=view&team_id=92738
