Vision time:
Once a year the Empiric heralds travel throughout the Old World, with a decree from the Emperor. The absolute best teams of both divisions are invited to compete against eachother in a breathtaking tournament set in the capitol of Altdorf.
The Emperor presents: The Old World Championship.
The 16 strongest teams from the Blackbox and Ranked circuits are drawn into 8 groups a 4 teams.
Following the group stage is a knock-out grid with the group winners being drawn against the group runner-ups.
The Winners are crowned Old World Champions!
There are already some threads about Tournaments and Championships in Blackbox. And I think that would be awesome.
However this idea is a bit on the side, so instead of derailing the discussion in other threads, I started this one. |

Without knowing too much of the technical architecture behind FUMBBL, I am guessing the third option probably should read "Cool, but it might need a lot of work..." |

Even when [B] matures more, the top 16 [B] teams will never be on the same level as the top 16 [R] teams. |

Really? Why don't we find out!
EXACTLY what you are saying is one of the reasons why I think this might be an exciting concept. |

So you think a team like this (the current highest TS [R] team) could have developed in [B]? |

I hear what you're saying, but the differential in difficulty in building a team between the two divisions is so large (the wood elf team above has never played an Orc, Chaos Dwarf, Khemri, or Dwarf team. Ever), it wouldn't even be interesting, unless ranked spotted some pretty huge handicaps (or started playing real blood bowl en masse ).
There are more than a few teams at the higher levels that the coaches just pull out and dust off for majors in Ranked. How can teams that get put on the line regularly compete with that?
Frankly, those Ranked Coaches that want real competition already play in Black Box anyway. |

In fact the opposite. they come back to R and play lovely tournaments. |

althought it migth be extremyl difficult, even in [R] its not likely to have a team like this, this is '08-BDay-team. you cant compare things uncompareble |

lets face it, R teams are going to be much bigger because you can dodge the evil 6 dp chaos or khemri teams....
two very different worlds in which to team-build |

Ok so it might be hard developing such teams outside the field of Cherry Trees that is [R]anked.
But does it stand a chance against the hardest Dwarf or Chaos Dwarf teams in the Box?
I have my doubts, and I would love to see the cherry pickers put their teams where their mouths are. |

My guess is that you haven't seen the cherrypicking chaos teams of doom from R yet. Although I must say they have been AWOL for a bit. |
