I have been away from my laptop for a while and when I got back and tried to view a replay, spec a game or start a game on FUMBBL it won't open it all.
It says unable to launch application and these are the details:

That smells like a firewall rule update that locks traffic between your computer and fumbbl on the ports that FFB client uses.
If you like, you could try to open more ports from your laptop / home connection to *.fumbbl.com |

Ah, actually that looks firewall blocking the java from updating itself from sun:

at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(Unknown Source)

So it could be that the java engine is trying to get updates to itself over http and fails as its connection is blocked. Still, this is just my guessing.
Perhaps you could try to update java manually from their web page.
Good report though. |

Hmm this is happening again.
I am pretty sure it is do with the http:// instead of https://.
I can't open any pages on FUMBBL that start with http:// - this includes the java start up.
Any chance of the start up moving to https when the new client kicks off? |

I'm having problems as well. I'm using a windows 7 pc and have managed to get the client to the "Verifying Application" stage and then it freezes.
Could anyone help using small words and/or pictured please? |

I helped jimmy with this. I seem to remember this was down to a DNS issue jimmy had. I asked him to reset his router to factory settings at the time and it fixed the problem.
Assuming you are talking about the problem he had in his third post, about http and https problems.
Try resetting your router to factory settings, as long as you haven't changed any settings in the GUI you will be okay and should reconnect automatically after the reset. if you have a wireless connection you may need to reconfigure it. |

No my problem is not being able to open the fumbbl applet. I can see Fumbbl, but java won't open properly. |

I am having a similar problem. I click on the play button and the Java 7 box comes up then the pop up box starting application comes up. the green bar moves about an inch and then nothing happens, won't open the client |

do you have a firewall if so get rid of it. If still isn't working after uninstall java run crap cleaner reinstall java then try again. |

If you are using AVG I bet that is the problem, seems that recently it has started to conflict with Javabowl and stops the client from downloading. Try uninstalling it and changing to Microsofts free virus protection, that works fine |
