I just thought of something.
Why not make Ethereal beings stunty+two heads instead of VLL+leap
I mean it's more unique then just making another slann roster:

sure, it may make them more vulnerable, but I think it fits the fluff.
And they're pretty high av+regen anyway, perhaps make them a little bit cheaper. |

Naa I like that roster. Plus it's been playing tested in gbbl . The slann ethereal match was amazing 
Also ethereal is an ability that appears on a number of rosters and stunty isn't a good fit imo, it would make some of those players too good and others terrible. |

another thing:
your player pics seem to have a white border around them when using in the client.
I think you have forgotten to use transparent background when using the player portraits background.
I've fixed a few for myself, do you want them in your gallery or can I replace from mine? |

With the Ref roster, I think we should look at specialist star players. I'm not sure about not having SW on the saw either. But having SW kind of defeat's the theme. Possibly a neg trait. What about........putting blood lust on the saw too.

I think I'll add this to our pm conversation (I often reference those).
I know with ethereals something I wanted to see was something like: 10 1 4 10 2 heads, dodge, foul appearance, stunty, no hands (can go anywhere but not do much when they get there). I guess on a similar line to Roland's thoughts. Not sure I'm that keen on ethereals though, apart from my DE team. |

Just looked, the ref portraits defo have a white border, I haven't seem them like this before. |

I haven't used transparencies on the border. The reason for this is player pictures have to be 30kb or less and this can't be achieved while keeping the transparency. The official player pics are all about 42kb . But we cannot use player pics of this size when manually assigning them. |

Nope not possible with these pics. The best way to cut file size down is use save for web function of Photoshop but even then the minimum is usually 42kb. They look fine in the client though. Just a bit odd on the bio pages. So it's all good |

I redid a few and ended up on around 20k
I always use http://tinypng.org if they're too big, it usually chops off about 70% size.
here are the ones I've edited:
    
Actually, with tinypng, I can get them down to about 12k with transparency, but that doesn't seem necessary.
edit: btw, I use http://pixlr.com/editor/ for the layering. |

For your information guys. Our continued requests about player portrait file size can now cease! Christer seems to have raised the size cap on player portraits. I just uploaded some 41KB normal png24 portrait files the other day. So no need for compromising files anymore. |
