I would definitely go with Dodge also - works as a poor man's Stand Firm and who knows, you might actually want to dodge to go Guard elsewhere... Laughing

Blodge with Guard will be the anchor of your line! Just hope that you don't roll doubles again so that you can take Block... Shocked

Side-step would be my second choice.

hoodeddwarf, assuming he doesn't get doubles again, he's gonna get tackle next skill, what else is there to give him?

Dauntless without block is not an option for me, also not Frenzy out of the same reason.
I'd take Side Step, Diving Tackle or Dodge.

I like sidestep, dauntless or dodge

Sidestep-annoying, he may get knocked over alot, but you can strategize where to place a guard on your next turn

Dnltless- I give my catchers this skill. Plus with guard on all blitzers and an ogre, you may not need it.

Dodge- for avoiding the occasional hit from a non tackle player. Also, blodge, guard liners are solid players on offence and defence. If he lives that long...

Hmmmm. Just got in from a night on the beer.

Definately gonna go for either dodge or sidestep.

Will decide when sober.

Thanks for all the advice, much appreciated!

Hi, mates

I'd take Dodge as well. MB without block is rather tricky. Sidestep is always great, but guard linos take much bashing onto themselves, and dodging will allow him to survive a little longer, until he manages to get Block (should be next!)

(humblest opinion from learning coach)

Dodge or Sidestep. Both are awesome choices with guard once you get block.

Dauntless without block = reroll eater.

Save dauntless for catchers.

yeah - diving tackle is much more useful on catchers (mainly because they can take it on a normal roll), and same goes with dauntless -- i'd wait till you get a double on a catcher for dauntless (might take a while, but if you stick with the team, you're bound to get one eventually).

sizestep or dodge are nice, as there is a good chance this guy will spend a lot of time getting into the action Wink

I had the same problem and I went with MB after guard. Now he is almost useless since I never have have the gutts to hit with him and all people beat him to a pulp. I would seriusly consider block if I were you, he will prob die before next skill whitout block.

I would not share your point of view. Dodge means nothig against Tackle. Indeed not every day he will face (Ch)Dorfs. However S.Step would help him to avoid chain blocks and put an assist that can change odds in following blocks in his favour.
Not mention how useful he would become to play in wide zones.

Indeed he will be beatten until he reaches Block. But... this is lino's purpose to be beatten - just avoid MBs, Claws, etc. And from the coach point of view it will be enough for him to stand up and give assists. No even need to move. Smile
