Promotions to premier got interesting with two wildcards being offered due to Snorri taking his vanguard on to greener pastures. The first Wildcard went to Malthor on a massive 30pts and the 2nd WC went to a 3 way tie between Tribalsinner,xstatika and Jarnauga. With Jarnauga beating xstatika on their conference head to head. A playoff between Jarnauga and Triballsinner will be held. |

Some minor changes...in the case of a tie, promotions usually go on head to head result, then touchdown countaback ...
However, with conference wildcard promotions, there is no head to head result. So about a season ago, we decided to run with the idea of a playoff if it should ever happen. With my Vanguard retiring, we need 2 wildcards from the 3 conferences.
The second place getters in each conference were:
Malthor - 30pts (promoted)
Tribalsinner - 25pts
Jarnauga - 25pts
Note xstatika finished on 25pts also, but missed out on 2nd position in his conference on a head to head result with Jarnauga.
So that leaves Tribalsinner and Jarnauga to fight for a premier spot.
There will be a ko set up in the main swl page for this. 1 week to finish it!

Conference TR Culls
You might recall us mentioning a TR bonus for 2nd and 3rd place getters in the Conferences. Well...this season it kicks in! If you are listed below, take note.
2nd Place (TR210 Cull) - Applies to the loser of Jarnauga and Tribalsinner's game.
3rd Place (TR205 Cull) - XStatika, Platypus and Erikikers
Might not be an issue for some of you, but you should at least revel in the honour a bit  |

With the success of the scheduled matches page, I think we'll want to keep it running for season 17. If you have suggestions for improvements, put them in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
I'm thinking that probably we'll just clear out the old entries (unless there is enough support for keeping them), and maybe try out the alternative idea we were throwing around -- put them in order (next match to be played at the top), and delete matches that have been played. It requires a little bit of maintenance, but shouldn't be too bad.
I don't think I'll run the tipping page this season, simply because of the amount of work required to keep the page up to date. Other than that, I thought it worked pretty well, so I'll see what can be done to set up something a little more automated in the future (i.e. probably with a php front-end rather than using the wiki). |
