Connection Issues with Win8
Recently bought a new laptop running Win8 and connected over wireless. I am having issues with connectivity to the FUMBBL server (and nothing else). I seem to be getting a lot of dropped sessions (no action will be going on the client and then 30secs or so later a prompt saying that I need to reconnect will appear in the chat box).
It seems much worse during initial setup and setup after a drive and may be triggered by receiving chats and marking players but is not consistent.
Any ideas?

get rid of the steaming pile of crap that is win8 and go to 10 or 7?

Yeah win8 is awful. Windows7 is by far a better option, but even 10 is better.

I run Win7 at home and get disconnected more often than if I am on the work laptop which is OS X. However I've never linked it to any trigger. The client has always been sensitive to certain soundcard driver flaws -- try disabling client sound and see if it still happens. If it stops you probably need to update your audio drivers. Other than that... Java delete/reinstall?
