OBBA awards season 28
Dear OBBA fans!
Here's an exclusive report to the end-of-season gala party held last night, in which the famous OBBA player awards were announced.
A big crowd entered before the castle hall in which the award ceremony would take place. Some even camped in front of the castle the night earlier, to be able to have the best spot! (By the way, those fans were all eaten alive by the Hungry Troll Assocation fanbase of Goblin team Real Mad Rid. They arrived just five minutus before the ceremony started, but still managed to get the best places...)
At dusk the first players started appearing in their elongated and pimped limousine chariots and luxerous 12 horse coaches. The red carpet turned all green and slimey when Hellas Nurgona entered. After that, free gas masks were distributed by the red cross and the rest of the teams avoided walking on the carpet. They either took the back door or just jumped over the crowd altogether (The Slann of Swampsea City).
The crowd was warmed up by a music show of an unnamed high elvish princess that ended abruptly when the Legendary Dark Elf witches Stephanie of Tsv 1860 München turned her into a frog! In the following chaos the entire team and staff of Real Mad Rid got trampled and were sent to hospital. The trolls did stay, however. But without their asstisting team mates the remaining trolls were kind of out of initiative for a while.
Finally, the award ceremony started...The first prize to be announced was the 'Golden Tackler' for Most Casualties caused. All the tough big guys went forward and readied themselves for their big moment of fame. The envelope was opened and the award was won by... "Manolo Snachis of Real Mad Rid with 10 casualties in 66 blocks thrown!". Big silence in the crowd... no one cheered, no one claimed the prize. All eyes were targeting the really big and really stupid troll as he was trying to remember how he got here and what is name was. The show host simply walked to him, handed the prize over and went on to the next item. The troll still stood there puzzled for an hour or so after the show ended, and then finally started cheering!
The second prize handed out was the 'Golden Glove' for most completions thrown. All light footed, pointy eared and blond haired contenders rushed forward. "The best passer this season was the pro elf Nuri Sawhinovitsch of Pro-Russion Dortmund with 12 completions thrown!!" The elf proudly walked on the stage. The other contenders demonstrated that they were good passers too by throwing rotten eggs and tomatoes right on target. This didn't intimidate the jury at all and the prize was given to the egged and tomatoed Nuri as deserved. Since Pro-Russia Dortmund became one of the first teams ever to win the premiership with a 9/0/0 record this should silence most passing game critics out there!
The third prize was the 'Golden Shoe' for most touchdowns scored in a season. There were three nominees: The natural one turner gutter runner Salinas of Dream Team Barcelona, the freak catcher Andrev Schürlek of Pro-Russia Dortmund and -surprisingly- the pestigor Luca Cecchin of Hellas Nurglona. The prize went to... "Salinas of Dream Team Barcelona with 11 touchdowns in only 78 turns and with just a minimum of rushing yards!" This guy always runs straight towards his target! It was his second Golden Shoe in a row.
The fourth prize awarded was the 'Golden Ball' for best player of the season, This category was truely dominated by the elves of Pro-Russia Dortmund. Two of their players were nominated (Andrev Schürlek and Ousmanek Dembelév). The third nominee was Jordan Henderson from the dark elf team Bloodpool Reds. "It was a close call, but the golden ball for most spps earned in OBBA season 28 goes to: Andrev Schürlek of Pro-Russia Dortmund with 49 spps earned!" He was the best all rounder, with some touchdowns, some casualties and some MVPs. A very promising player, with only 14 games played so far and already gifted with +ST, +AG and 64 spps. We will hear more of him in the future!!
The last award of the night was the 'Foul Play Trophy'. There was again a big shift in the crowd as all dirty players and sneaky gits rushed forward. With no referee nearby they practiced their best skills and tricks on each other. The rest of the crowd watched from a safe distance. "The Foul Trophy for OBBA season 28 goes to: Coutinho V from Hellas Nurglona with 29 fouls committed in 100 turns!".
