Monte Castello Wreckers summary
So the Monte Castello Telegraph decided to run a story which told of the Wreckers highs and lows throughout the first and up to where we are in the second season it goes as follows.

Roller Coaster Wreckers

The story of the Monte Castello Wreckers is an interesting one and as they roll into the business end of their second season we thought we'd look at the highs and lows so far.

From title favourites to their position in the league being in jepordy they have it all.

After the formation of the new DLE league Monte Castello wanted to be involved so created themselves a team. Thus the wreckers were formed and they brought in coach Oliver Hoodless to try to guide them to glory.
Coach Hoodless worked quickly to bring in franchise player Dunkel Hoffnung to fill in the thrower slot and provide themselves with a solid base.
Coach Hoodless then worked at trading in second season picks for more picks for the first draft. This appeared to work as they started the season with 12 skilled players (1 franchise, 4 UDFA and 7 draft picks one of which was a pre season trade after the draft).
This put the Wreckers in a commanding position and put them among the pre season favourites.

They put this strong draft to good use with a 3-1 victory over the Praag Grizzlies. Their season then threatened to falter as they drew and then lost their 2nd and 3rd round games. They finished strong though notching up 4 consecutive wins to give themselves a chanve of reaching the playoffs. Unfortunately they were badly beaten by the Marienburg Marauders and both missed out on the play offs and suffered some permanent damage to the team.

There was then an expansion of the league and the Wreckers had a single draft pick in which they replaced their injured ogre.
Unfortunately their injured players didnt have time to recover and they went into their first game of the second season with a light squad

The Wreckers picked up a respectable draw before losing their second round. The then got a forfeit in their favour but with casualties mounting they then drew their next game and in round 5 and then disaster struck.

In what could only be described as a breakdown coach Hoodless ordered his team off the field and threw in the towel during their match. He then went onto give a damning post match conference which put coach Hoodless' position in jepordy as he was facing the possibility of the sack.
Fortunately the league committee looked favourably upon coach Hoodless and he kept his job but the team was fined for his indiscretions.

Even though coach Hoodless' actions were terrible it seemed to reinvigorate him and the team and since the incident they have wracked up 3 wins and a draw.
They now sit top of their division and have a good chance of making the play offs. Lets see what the future holds for the Wreckers and the city will continue to support coach Hoodless and trust him to push the team for silverware.

Coach and team stepped up significantly. As the Sylvanian saying goes:
