I suggest you install chrome, or firefox.
I have been using Windows 10 for over 2 years. I hated the Edge application and didn't even notice that it doesn't support java, but you are correct.
I actually still use Internet Explorer which you can manually find (It's still there). But, you can download all the other browsers and use them without difficulty.

As Bill said
If you type Internet into the search box I.E. is still there

Thats because edge sucks.
Get firefix or chrome and you are good to go.

I just got a new Dell laptop for the family and it's a full-time job just eliminating all the crap MS and Dell want me to use on my computer. Makes a guy want to switch to Linux.

It is amazing you buy a more powerful computer and it cannot even download the Fumbbl client seriously WTF`?

Is it something to do with McAUFFIE security that is blocking the client?

Microsoft Windows Defender is superior in my opinion. I would eliminate all other garbage (McAfee, etc).

I use a surface pro and that works just fine with the random browser (or ie). As above, I suspect it's something else. I did end up having to mess around with some stuff to get it working in the first instance.

A general tip for making FFB Client work on Win is to uninstall 3rd party anti-virus.
